I'm interested to hear what kind of life he is seeing from guides etc in heads that he has reworked using OEM rockers and a reasonable cam (<.640").

Ask him about potential reduced guide wear on LS7's utilizing a roller-tipped rocker vs. the stock rockers (just any roller-tipped rocker - the builder will worry about MOI / spring rates / weight over the nose, etc.).

Or, put another way, what role do the stock rockers play with their questionable bearing tolerances (slop / side to side movement) coupled with the scrub radius (even with the stock cam), and considering the production machining tolerances of pedestal height / centerline, etc., and using the current Mobil 1 factory fill (reduced Zinc, targeted for gas mileage and emissions, not wear reduction)?

Thanks!

Perhaps a quick response like "he nailed it" or "I have very good data from him". Elaborate when you have the time..

I will give you at least one answer to everyone's question..

1.Oiling without the guide getting enough oiling and lubrication premature guide wear will start.

2. Rockers everyone is curious on rockers and swipe pattern yes. Well stock rockers are fine he said with the trunion upgrade, Second measure and check if you are using the same rockers when car was stock to add to heads. If there is any wear or how can I put it non smooth surface then yes rocker geometry does equate to guide wear. Those 2 key important things are what he specifically told me.

3. Changing ss valves is a plus he says manly is perfect, ferrea is over kill for a street car he says only if your dragging the car or road course racing the vehicle.. Oils to use I will post the oils he told me ... Thanks thats all the time I have today.
