I sold my C5 and picked up a 2008 C6 ZO6 with 16K miles on it last week and a few days later the climate control started to flash. I turned the unit off and the temperature would continue to flash. I parked the car for about thirty minutes and when I started it back up it was not flashing. I also disconnected the battery to see if it might reset the electronics.
This flashing comes and goes without a pattern. I took it back to CarMax (yeah I know) because they say that will take care of whatever is wrong with it for the first thirty days and was told that the Freon was low.

Is this a possibility or is the head unit most likely on the way out as I have read.

I've heard good about Car Max. They stood behind my friends car several times.

Got a feeling that may be the end of your Climate Control module. Might try a search as I've heard of this before.. Good luck, 2k

My 09 Z did the same thing and the climate control face plate.

CarMax called me this morning. They will be replacing the climate control head unit along with the NPP actuator, fixing a chip in the windshield, doing an alignment and fixing the squeaky breaks. So far I'm very impressed with them.

Update,

CarMax took care of everything at no charge. They replaced the climate control unit, repaired the NPP solenoid, replaced the front brakes, did the alignment and repaired a chip in the windshield.
