Tires - Remarkable Differance
Purchased a 2009 Z with 3,500 miles on it a year ago. It was running Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G2 tires. Always experienced wheel hop, and Active handling kicking in to straighten the car out when doing an aggressive launch. Recently at 10,000 miles I noticed that the tires, while evenly worn on all four tires, were down to the wear indicators. Purchased a new set of Brigestone Potenza RE050A RFT tires and the difference in ride, noise, launch, and handling is remarkable. If you are running the Goodyears for mostly street use, changing them out to Bridgestone or Michelin's is worth every dollar. Awesome......

Beautiful car! Almost any tire you install other than Goodyear will be a big improvement. Unfortunately, it is something you must experience to appreciate.

That's great to read. I'm in the same situation right now, bought the car with worn out Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G2 tires. Nothing but bad things to say and they are still on the car. I'm looking at stock size Cooper RS3-S replacements. Great looking Z!

For the rear I went with the larger 345/30-19 Michelin non run flats the day after I picked up the car. My first set were PS2 and this second set are Pilot Super Sport.
The 345 Michelin fits the car very nice. Different manufacturers tires vary in size, so it really helps to see them on a car first.
Originally I used 275/35-18 for the front because the PS2's were not available in a 285. I'll probably go with the 285 Super Sports front when I replace them.

you should consider that you changed out 6 year old performance tires for new tires - not apples to apples when there is that much of an age difference.

I put stock size coopers on my z last year and no problems to report. Very quite compared to the original run flats. I don't drive in the rain, but handling and grip pretty good.
