Default Engine temp vs power

Does anybody have actual numbers on how much of a difference in horsepower the coolant temp makes? At what temp will the engine make the most power? I have a 160 thermostat and the fan set to come on at 192. Cruising the temp runs 180 but at the track by the time I go thru the staging lanes, burnout and up to the line the temp is at 192. If somebody proves that a lower temp will give me more power I'll get a circuit to turn the fan on at lower temp.

When I had my C5 I went to the 99 Corvettes at Carlisle event. I paid the bucks and had my car dyno'ed. While I was waiting in line I was talking to the dyno operator about the results he was seeing. He said he had noticed the C5s that had engine coolant temps in the 200 to 210 degree range seemed to have the highest power output and after we did 4 runs on my car that is the temp range it was running on the 2nd run where it got its highest HP reading. However, the HP difference wasn't all that much, was masked somewhat by the dyno's +/- 1% accuracy and more than likely wouldn't have been noteworthy in any quarter mile run on a drag strip.

I've seen as much as .10 ET between rolling out of the staging lanes at 183 and 200+, but I can't document that engine temps were the total cause. There is more to the equation than trying to control temps via fans. HPTuners low limit is 192* and maxed at 25% IIRC, so you may need something else. I'm currently experimenting with several alternatives and will post up results in a couple weeks in my "radiator dilemma" thread on the Tech & Perf forum.

Are saying .10 quicker at 183 or at 200? I know about IAT. I had 105 IAT on a 70 degree day. Turns out the air comes thru the radiator and flows back over the top into the air filter. Did some simple mods and dropped the IAT to 5-10 degrees over ambient.

Casper electronics makes a fan switch with hardware that can turn the fans on whenever you want. I have been riding around in 95 heat city driving ac off 178 ac on 195 to 197

.10 quicker when rolling out at 183. I'm somewhere around 205 as I slow to turn off. I can usually cool to the mid-190's on the return road, but it'll heat soak and go above 200 once stopped in the staging lanes again. 10-20 minutes to get back to 183 again, unless it's a small crowd and that's when I could get called out early before it cools. I lose a little on the 60' and the 330'. IAT and advance are nearly the same on the scans, so I assume it's heat. Toward the end of a session I can hot lap without a problem, but there's no time for heat soak either.
