How many guys are over 60,000 miles on their Z. How are your cars holding up.

My 08' z06 was great till I hit 60k miles when it dropped a valve on a fairly new set of OE heads installed by chevy dealership (16k miles only on them in 4 years). Funny thing was the dealer swapped my old head for these new ones cause the motor was making a noise that they could not identify. Still dealing with dealership and GM on this resolution. But love my Z and will get her fixed better than new with or without GM.

That's good to hear. I am just trying to see how the motor and trans hold up after you do the heads on these LS7.

Well the dealership said they will cover 10% of cost to fix whatever needs fixing. They are not sure if its just isolated to heads or if it damaged the block as well. Not c onfident in dealership so I am already looking to build a ls7 motor and make it bulletproof with the help of Willingham Performance. Wish me luck all.

One interesting addition would be whether these cars with all the miles and doing so well have original or reworked heads. Mines doing well and sounds great, though it it is an 08 with only 9000 miles that has never seen full redline in my hands

I have been looking into getting a Z, seen some with 30,000 to 50,000 miles on them with good prices. Just wanted to see how they are holding up with that many miles. I have gotten used to my last 2 LS1 cars. One with 295,000 miles on it before it got wreck, and the one I have now with 258,000 miles on it.

My LS3 had 80k before I sold it and still ran great. My Z only has 12k, unfortunately I just dont have near enough time to drive it. Heads are modded though and runs like a new car fwiw.

67k miles on my '07, original heads with all valve to guide clearances within service limits when measured last year at 62k, zero maintenance issues, looks, sounds and drives great. It's hard to beat a used C6Z when it comes to value for money.

104k on mine - had the heads reworked at 100k. The only issues I've had are replaced a water pump at 80k and rear wheel bearing hub at 102k.

Early '09 Z -- 28,464 miles. No problems yet. Only modification -- a Billy Boat exhaust system.

And you can bet there are many more still running without incident. Valve guide wear, yes. Total destruction to the entire population, no.

'07 bought new & now with 60,000 miles.

Just a leaky pan gasket replaced under warranty. Otherwise, no issues.

Love this car!
