When I accelerate I hear a strange almost wooshing sound under the hood when I step on the gas. I have a ported FAST102, nw tb and varam

I pulled my intake manifold and verified that there were no leaks and that everything is tight. Any thoughts as to where else the sound could be coming from? How would I perfom a smoke test?

On a side note I did notice that when I wiggle the rubber line coming from the brake booster to the intake manifold I do hear a hissing sound, brakes feel fine and car stops on a dime still.

interesting I will check those things out. Do you have any pics of where the hose is under the right side of the TB?

ah thanks for the tip, no need to rush I think I know what you are referring to..., here is a pic of my engine bay,

I'm assuming you are referring to the line thats in the right side of my catch can?

My FAST 102 made air noises/whistled under WOT. Once MSD was installed sound went away..

Is it more like the whine/whistle you hear from a supercharger? If so, it's the 102. At least that's the sound I get, and it most definitely is the NW102 that's making it. Only when the throttle blade is cracked open under load.

Thats what I thought too until I installed the MSD IM. I stayed with the NW TB and no more whistle for me..

Don't know what to tell you.... I did nothing but add a NW 102 and started hearing this damn whistle. Started a thread on it not too long ago.

It may be the manner in which the airflow enters the intake that causes it to hit the throttle blade, just right, to make it whistle. The blade, I think, acts like a reed in a whistle.

I would say its the intake or throttle body mine does the same thing.

My Fast 102 with a NW 102 TB makes the same noise when I'm at 10%-25% throttle. It does sound like a vacuum leak, but it comes from the TB.

My car has a BPP carbon fiber ram air intake. It does that intake whistle thing at like 25 to 50% throttle tip in. I just assume it's coming from the intake? Its actually a really annoying noise. But going from stock exhaust to new headers/x pipe/mufflers... I can't hear it anymore. Lol

Are you sure it is not the sound of the air whooshing through the VaraRam. It definitely has a different sound than the stock air cleaner system.
