[Z06] Horsepower limits??

Horsepower limits??
I know this question has been asked before and excuse my ignorance but just curious how much Hp a c6 zo6 motor can handle before I have to start building the motor. I have installed an ECS supercharger on 3psi and it made 632hp and 562 ft/lbs of torque. I am installing headers and x-pipe next but just curious what my limits are?
Appreciate the advice please

~700 with enough octane and spot on tune.

Melting Slicks
Running lean and detonation is what will kill your motor. Like Unreal said though, I would keep it to 700whp as it shouldn't take much boost to get it there.

Yeah tell me about it 3psi and I'm already at 632whp. Thanks for chiming in I've read multiple places 700 is usually the limit but there are all the stories of people handling much more but with no dyno sheets or proof to back it up

One of the limiting factors on the stock LS7 block is the very thin cylinder liner walls. At higher HP than discussed they distort and fail (big $$).

I'm sitting at 645 wheel hp at around 5psi here in Albuquerque.
A previous tuner thought that I was also only at 3psi (and tuned me to 625hp), but that is NOT the case with the ECS kit. With the restriction plate intact, one is actually at 5psi here in Albuquerque. A perfect tune is the key here. Don't want any detonation at all. That previous tuner left me with what I thought was a good tune. Another tuner checked my tune over and it scared the hell out of him as the previous tuner left me very close to lean at WOT.
Now my tune is perfectly safe (no lean conditions) and I'm sitting at 645 wheel hp.
A buddy of mine, Scott also has a Z06 with the ECS kit + Cam + headers and the restriction plate opened up a bit and is sitting over 700hp on 7psi here in Albuquerque. But one has be be careful with the parts + tune to achieve that on the LS7.
GD-Z06 your ride is bad *** man! Keep safe brother and ride strong!

By the way, my new tuner + Scott + some others are working on a great system to help keep the temps down with the ECS kit (as you know it runs very hot). They really seem to help...A LOT and the mods are fairly cheap. PM me if interested and we can talk about them.

Like Unreal and EX1 said 700whp but one thing you need to consider is your car was dynoed in Albuquerque. Albuquerque's elevation is 5200ft +. When you dyno a car at high elevation the dyno corrects for the altitude you live at. If I had to guess I'd say your correction factor was around 1.21 the day you dynoed. 632whp÷1.21=522whp your car is only really making 522whp here in Albuquerque.
If you call ecs and ask how much boost their kit would make at sea level with the restrictor plate fully in tact they will tell you 8psi. I have seen on numerous occasions that SC cars loose typically 2-3 psi from sea level when they come to Albuquerque. I'd bet $100 that your car is really making more than 3psi. You need to do yourself a huge favor and take your car to get a unbiased opinion. I would take your car and pay the $80 to have Chris at dyno edge do some pulls on your car. He will hook up his dynos boost gauge and measure your air fuel ratios and give you a honest unbiased opinion about how your car is tuned and tell you how much boost your car is truely making. I'll even make you a deal. If your car is making 3 psi or less I'll pay for your dyno time. If dyno edge says it's more psi you pay for your dyno time.
Unreal, this is SYCHO from TSC BTW.

Yep, actual power is all that matters. That's why you see 1000+rwhp short blocks out of ABQ and Denver.
Just like Camaro buddy in Denver is making 880rwhp on a stock TT ls3, but his actual is ~700rwhp. Block, pistons, fuel system doesn't care about your car may make at sealevel in theory, just actual horse power.
