Default Help! A/C inop after header install

Just had a shop install a set of Melrose Headers, went to pick the car up and the A/C does not work now.. The shop said they will look at it but isn't able to get it back in for a few days. Any one else have any issues like this?? Visually everything looks as it should, compressor comes on when I turn on the a/c but blows hot.

U sure it's kicking on and off? It will only do that when there is refrigerent and temps are decent outside. Maybe they unplugged something by the compressor during the header install and forgot to plug it back in.

Is the temp adjustment in the car at the proper position?

With the climate control off the clutch is not spinning, when I turn it on it kicks in, temp in car adjusted all the way down to 60 and outside temp was about 78.

Is there more than one connector on the compressor? I can see the one sticking out tword the pass side and it is connected.

That I don't know. If you can see that one connector make sure it's in all the way but if you say the clutch is spinning when you turn on the AC, connector(s) should be plugged in properly.

Yeah it is in there all the way, The only other thing I can think is maybe they hit an A/C line and punctured it or something that caused a leak. But if that was the case the compressor would not kick at all right, because of improper pressure?

Yep, something must've been damaged so that refrigerant leaked out but not enough so the compressor still runs but doesn't cool off the car.

You could try moving the temp to 74. Find the fuse for the AC module and pull it for about a minute and reinstall. Turn the AC on and turn down to 60 and see if that does anything. Or you could have high pressure because the fans aren't working.

Compressor has a low pressure safety switch and won't come one with a freon loss.

So what it ended up being was the top a/c line with the plastic clamp had been hit during install and started to leak, System only had .6lbs in it, so they replaced the o rings and charged it back up. Works like a charm again! Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
