Default making a Zo6 a convertible, cost, affect on handling?

Thinking of purchasing a Z06 and having it made into a convertible.
Dropping the top is a must in a sports car for me!
Does any one know of a good company that offers the conversion?
Price?
Will it affect the handling tremendously?

As a 427 vert owner there is no reason to do a conversion. You can pick a 2013 up for mid 50's and this winter probably low 50's.

Yep, much easier than doing a conversion and you will be able to sell a 427 vert later, very difficult to sell a one off vert conversion.

Maybe Supercharge a Grand Sport?

I am still going back and forth between a Z06 and a SC GS...

The Z06 is only available as a non removable top coupe for a reason.
Don't go there. Buy a 427 vert or a Grand Sport and mod the **** out of the engine. Hacking up a Z to make a vert will cost a pant-load of cash and it will be worth less when it's done then what you paid for it stock.

Absolutely correct. In watching the YouTube video on the Corvette factory and the building of the Corvette ZO6, one sees the custom, basically hand built aluminum frame. It requires the overhead frame parts to give the whole frame enough strength. I would not want to cut any of them out! This is not very technical, but you get the idea.

I have both, there both a blast. Its not cost effective to try and make a Z into a 427 Convertible, plus its going to weigh more than the 427 Convertible making it slower.
