I have been extremely happy with the Pilot Super Sports. There have been a lot of positive reviews for the PS2, PSS and REO50A on this site. I have not come across much information on the Continentals.

If it were me, I'd get the PSS without hesitation.

You have your answer, there will be a few with various brands coming but you should get the idea after the first couple posts... I have never seen a negative post about them

I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my 427 Limited Edition. Great tires, I'm running 295/35-18's and 345/30-19's.

Typical tire wear on the wide body C6s is the inside of the front tires and the outside of the rear tires goes first. The rear wear on the outside is pretty substantial considering the negative camber used with the tires which would seem like the insides would wear. A lot of the outside wear is due to the toe setting.

If you are looking for better mileage than the EMTs the first thing you need to do is to go to the Pfadt street settings. The EMTs only come with 8/32 of tread which means the usable tread before hitting the wear bars is 6/32.

I went through several sets of EMTs and then decided to go with the PS2 Zero Pressure tire. They have 9/32 of tread Vs the EMTs 8 and seem to be holding up well. I even did a track day with them while driving from upstate NY to Key West and back.

I like the idea of the run flat since it means I don't have to stop until I get to a service location or home. The less than 50 miles at 55 mph means you can repair the tire after a zero pressure incident as long as you stay inside that limit. If the tire slowly loses pressure over 50 miles or so you can keep adding air and can get a lot of miles on it without violating the limit. If you are some place where you have to drive more than 50 miles and there is no place to stop and add air you can still drive on a zero pressure tire but it won't be repairable. That is still far better than being stuck alongside the road waiting to be towed some place where they may not have the tire you need. The runflats just give more freedom and you do have to pay for that freedom. I can't imagine driving in the traffic zoo the California freeways have become and running over something that tears a hole in the sidewall of a tire and having to stop because all the air went out at once.

Bill

I've got 18K miles on my 275/325 PSS including several HPDE's. For a while I went with the Phadt street alignment, but now have the track/street for DOT track tires as several of the events I do require less than 5 year old tires and mine will time out. I will most likely replace them with 285/345PSS.

If you don't get ZP's, just make sure yu carry a battery powered air pump, a plug kit and a can of slime. Out here in the West there are many places that you will be well over 100 miles from a place that could even change a tire like this and you'd wait 2-3 days to get one shipped in. People back east don't have the problem of being over 100 miles from even a gas station.

Bill and Dave, Thanks for your insight. My fronts do wear on the inside and the rears towards the outside. I might try the Phadt street setting. I do like runflats. I ran over something coming back from Carlisle a couple of years ago and had 0 PSI showing and was able to drive home about 60 miles at 60 mph. I also like the quick steering response of a runflat. I may go the Michelin route next time.

The PSS do not com in ZP's for 18/19 fitment of the Z. PS2's do. If you go that way, the Bridgestones have a very good reputation on this forum for the Z, also. The Phadt street setting will definitely improve tire wear.

Thanks Dave. I may try the PS2's. I love the way the car handles now. Will it handle as well with the Phadt street setting?

Bridgestone RE050A run flats on my Z06 . I have 30,000 miles on mine and am down to 4/32" tread depth(10/32" new), with even wear across the tires. I will run them another 10,000 miles and replace with another set of Re050A's.

Great tire and very good prices on them at TireRack.

I also run the street alignment specs. -0.9 camber front, -0.6 camber rear, and 0.08 toe in front an -0.02 rear toe.

Bridgestone RE050A run flats on my Z06 too. I have 32000 on mine with 5/32 left. I had the alignment set to stock 2008 C6 setting when I replaced the originals at 19000. All four are worn even all the way across. I do mostly highway driving.

It won't have the ultimate grip of a more aggressive alignment, but it will still corner strongly.
