Default KP Racing Breaks The Texas Mile Corvette Record 240.9mph

We finally got 1 decent day after all of the rain in Beeville and after only 2 passes with Joe back in the car, we took The Texas Mile Corvette Record.

240.9mph on low boost

If we had gotten some better weather this thing would have beaten the Camaro record easily. Plus we broke a transmission on friday just testing the car and had to go back to houston for the spare and drive back to change it in the rain. Thanks to LSX Tuning for letting us borrow there shop and the lift. Awesome how we all work together.

Can't wait for WannaGoFast and the Texas 1/2 Mile in 3 weeks. Then The Texas Mile in March.

Car Owner: Kelly Bise
Driver: Joe "Hollywood" Huneycutt
Built by: KP Racing
Tuned by: KP Racing
Engine built by: Late Model Engines

Twin Turbo 2009 Z06
T56 Faceplated Transmission
2.55 RPM Rearend

We hope to take the overall Corvette Mile record soon

Nice. What was the previous record for the Tx Mile corvette and what's is the overall record?

Great job! Nice to hear she had the power to run even better, weather permitting. Nevertheless a most impressive achievement already. Congratulations

231mph set back in 2011. Same driver just a different car/builder.

The overall record is 244 which is held by Hinson Motorsports.

This pass was on low boost. Car made 2116rwhp on our mustang dyno in July and we only got 3 passes sunday. Never had time to try and turn it up.

Remember the Callaway C4 twin turbo that ran 254 mph at the Salt Flats? That record stood for nearly 20 years. The Bugatti does about 204 mph through the mile. It's not even close. Fastest car at the TX Mile has been a Ford GT, did 273 mph a few years ago.

Body design i was referring too...the cars that are in the 200s are lower to the ground ..longer......heavier....and appear more aerodynamic..i would think this corvette would si t lower with a wing and special side and front spiolers to increase downforce...it also appears to have oem wheels..too me seems not the right car for 240 mph...that hennessey vemon thing seems like the right body..or konigseg...

It's hard to compare two different body styles of Corvette, the name is the only thing the that is the same. 240 in a mile is absolutely flying...I can't fathom it. There have been some bad wrecks in these cars.

BTW the Callaway Sledgehammer ran the 254.74 at TRC in Ohio.

That seems like a weird statement after what you just said considering the Hennessey Venom is a 1250hp car using the Lotus Exige chassis which was made for 250-350hp.

Actually the car that went 240.96 weights almost 4100lbs with the turbo kit and driver. This car is very stable at those speeds compared to the camaro that we went 263.2 in. And we all know that we wrecked it and now its a pile of scrap!
