Default 70 HP gain from dyno tuned alone!

Hi guys,

I just wanted to share my dyno numbers with everybody. Big thanks to Josh and Nate at Starkweather Performance in Turlock.

C6 Z06
41k miles on the car

- Halltech 102mm intake with beehive
- Kooks 1 7/8 headers long tube with high flow cats
- 160 T-Stat
- Stock muffler with NPP, muffler mod
- Stock LS7 Intake Manifold - Radical porting
- Stock LS7 Throttle body - Radical porting
- Stock Heads
- Stock Cam
- Stock Clutch
- NGK TR6IX Plugs

Base line dyno with Diablo Custom Tune was 439 hp. First dyno tune pulled was 503hp. 2nd pulled was 498hp with some timing removed. 3rd pulled was 509 after some adjustment.

I'm very happy with the results.

Thank you Starkweather performance!

Got the car tuned and drove it straight home and took off with the other car to work. Haven't gotten a chance to stretch her legs yet.

I don't know what that dyno normally generates for numbers on a stock Z06, but typical is around 440. With your mods the tune you replaced must have been way off with the intake, port work and headers. It seems the "pre-tune" mods and tune got you stock numbers.

Despite all that, the new tune looks like it generates the kind of power expected for your mods on a "normal" dyno.

My stock LS7 with no mods dyno'd at 469, but that is on a dyno that normally gets 455-475 on a stock LS7. No, my "big stock number" LS7 is no faster than normal - just dyno variance.

I had a custom tune using a Diablo intune. That was the number it generated when they threw the car on the dyno for a baseline number. Before the second run was initialize the car was restore back to stock form but they started tuning it.

Congrats on the nice dyno numbers...yesterday I had similar experience with tuning going from e-force tune to a custom tune.
Really makes difference, not just in power but seat of pants.

Thanks!

Custom dyno tune are the only way to go. I'm sure you have a big smile on your face afterwards.

Default Dyno and tune

I purchased a 2006 Z06 approx 3 months ago . Just from the nice sounds she makes, I can tell the previous owner had quite a bit of work done ...But there is no way to track exactly what it was . ... Is there any way to find out what I have under the hood?? How much for diagnostic and tune in the Bay Area?? Dyno??

It will be hard to know what exactly is done to the car without tearing into it. But having a tuner look over the tune would be a great start. Matt (GP Tuning) tuned my c6z at DNR in Hayward.

Nice numbers and it is even better to see another option for tuning in the valley.

Thanks everybody.

I decided to go with Starkweather Performance because they have the lowest and best price on dyno tuning in NorCal. Nate, their tuner, have been using and tuning EF LIVE for over 15 years.

Base line run with custom Diablosport tune was only 439hp.

This was the very first dyno tune by Nate. I netted 503, that's over 60+ hp on the first tune. Amazing!!!

We are lucky to have so many tuners in NorCal.

I totally agreed Matt. You don't know how disappointed I was with the base line dyno run.
