Oil overfill and smoking...
Long story short, I was having new tires put on and decided to have Goodyear change the oil while the car was in the air. They overfilled it. It smoked like crazy on the way home and then I checked the level. Drained it all out and out the right amount back in.
Well, the car is still smoking, not as bad, especially while idling. After a wot run tho, it smokes so bad after coming to a stop. I came off the interstate yesterday and you literally could barely see the car behind me it was smoking so bad. It's white smoke.
Oil pressure is fine through all rpms, car runs perfect.
Any input???

I'm having the same issue , I think. Car runs normal, all guages are within normal limits and all fluids are good. A lot of white smoke coming from exhaust though!! I'm no mechanic , just a novice ... Any suggestions??

Dragger, I checked coolant level, it's normal and has no sign of milkyness as if it were getting oil in it.

I actually just changed my oil again ... Emptied it completely , and refilled it carefully not to overfill , took it for a short ride to blow out diminishing white smoke from the exhaust. Once back home , back to normal. Thanks for help though , I appreciate it!!

I did that as well, and although it's not smoking nearly as bad as it was, it's still smoking. It's suppose to be nice again tomorrow, so I'll drive it some more and see what that does.

Did you take it back to the service provider? If not you should right away. Hopefully you documented everything including video of the smoking. Its possible they may have caused damage that is going to cost you money. At a minimum the should be refunding the oil change charge !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Document everything and contact their corporate office. If your engine grenades or gets worse, you want them to pay for it and they should.
Had a QuickLube install the oil filter wrong on my mom's car, the car never threw a light and grenaded in <300 miles. QL purchased a brand new engine and all the install costs. My insurance was never even contacted.

Their store mngr is a good friend of mine and aware of the situation.
I need to get re car out and drive it some more to see if it clears up. Weather has been shyte. Can't find any red flags anywhere visible, apart from the smoking after wot runs.
