An injector being stuck open is an unusual thing and not something most people have experienced as vehicle owners. Most of the time the result of a injector stuck open (or being commanded to be open by the pcm or by accidental grounding of circuit) is a bent rod and or broken piston.
Fuel washing down the walls is never a good thing and can ruin the ring sealing ability. We ran a leak down test on the cylinder in questions before taking the heads off and the cylinder passed as a good cylinder.

Someone above commented about all the LS7 injectors being bad and this is absolutely not the case. In fact we are not 100% sure the injector itself is bad. We have the injectors out at our local injector rebuilding shop at the moment and will know if that injector was or was not bad when we pick up the rebuilt injectors. If the injector is not bad then it means there is a circuit fault (grounding of wire, pcm grounding ect...) that commanded the injector to stay open.

Just so I'm understanding you correctly, you are saying if the OP hadn't shut the car down himself then a stuck fuel injector would have caused a disaster??

Well, got the Z06 back today from American Heritage Performance. Did the stage 4 package on the motor. This thing now runs like a real beast. Kohle at AHP does a spectacular job on the head and cam package.
Now for some seat time in So. California to enjoy the car!

What cam did you go with? I'm waiting for my heads from Kohle . I can't wait see the work he does. He's been great to work with so far. I'm going with a BTR stage 2 cam .

I used the cam he recommended for using stock exhaust and manifolds. It sounds great and has great drivability.
