Default Issues after lowering c6 ZO6 on stock bolts?

I've been researching lowering my 08 ZO6 on the stock bolts for quite sometime. During my research I've found a lot of contradicting information on whether it's good or not so good to do. There is a lot of information related to cracking issues in the suspension components. Has anyone ran into this or bothered to check for any problems after you've lowered the car and put some miles on?

I know an alignment is recommended, which isn't a big deal. I just don't want to take the chance of ruining other suspension components.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Nah, shouldn't be any issues...just turn the bolts all the way down, do not cut the bushings, and then realign. Should be +/- 5/8".
