I actually paid less than that but talk to vendors and see what deal you can get. Even at 160 well worth it.

I agree, I posted this thread. I put it out there as information that like mined people could use to make their own decisions. Take it with a grain of salt, but I had to spend thousands of dollars and months of my time to correct my motor from the failure. My intent was to provide this information to people who may consider this as and "upgrade" Its their money and their motor!! Only upside is I have a really badass motor since the rebuild!!!

I opened up the valve covers and looked at the rockers with 500 miles on them, not track driving but spirited and I see absolutely nothing meaning no metal particles that would indicate anything is happening. Will check again at 1000 miles and then actually open up one to see if there is any wear on the trunion. If it was wearing like others had I would see some particles around the rocker.

LS7R cam. Central Texas Machine did the build. Its 4.130 x 4.100. Compstar crank and rods, Wiseco 2.8cc dome pistons. RPM CNC'd heads. 12.2:1 compression. It is a lightly used motor I bought from another member here. Haven't fired it yet, still working on getting it in my car. I've spent enough on this motor/swap already. If I find wear when taking these apart, I'll just be going with the Smith Bros bushing kit.

I don't think you're talking out of turn to offer who you bought from or spoke to about the parts...

Well, I'd already seen enough to know that I'd never put them on my engine. This is just more proof for the doubters to ignore.

As Michael said, you need to pull one apart. I did the same thing at 18k miles, said the same thing. Then I opened one up, and it was trashed. Unless you remove snap rings and push one out, you may not see anything.

Obviously you cannot read very well, I said I only checked mine and will open up to see later on. Every post that someone puts in here or somewhere says they see metal by the side area clip. I'm not going to open them up with 500 miles on them when there is nothing to indicate anything is happening at this time.
