As an Invo owner, if you ever plan to use the gas pedal past a few percent, skip the Invos. Even new with stock Z06 power levels they will let loose with little effort and take away much of the joy of having a powerful sports car. On the plus side, they do ride nice and handle rain decently, though. They can be an OK cruising tire for the price as long as the grip limitations are acceptable.

I can't speak to the other choices as I'm still on the Invos. For me, the lack of grip takes them off the list for my next set of tires, though.

The speed limit of course... Tires are a year old and close to 600hp, it does have to be above 80 degrees for really good traction

So the Invo's suck for traction? They have a 220 tread rating (soft) and a AAA for traction.

Hell, my 315's on the Camaro were Nitto 555 Extremes and gripped for days (300 and only a AA)

I'm just confused I guess.

I personally have the MPSS and at 500rwhp they handle the power just fine.
What sizes are you running? I see quite a few for front and rear.

Each tire manufacturer has their own idea of tread rating and even sizes. I will tell you from experience that the Invos belong on minivans and not Z06s. You really get what you pay for when it comes to tires that's for sure....but the good thing is, you have one of the best performing street tires available for these cars. Michelins.

I have Invos. I have been able to get 18,000 out the rears (345/25/20), 24,000 on the fronts (235/30/19), I think the grip is good for the street, decent rain traction, OK noise levels. And I guess I am cheap!

I'm actually currently deciding between the RE-11s and the Michelin PSS. Anyone have any direct comparison? I want to run the stock sizes.

I'm leaning toward the PSS, but I heard that the sidewall is a little softer. Which to me is weird because the PSS is Y rated, and the RE11 is W rated, so that should be the other way around. I'm just looking for something that will keep the car very sharp and responsive. I don't care about ride quality, noise, or wet weather performance.

I had Potenza S04s on my C5Z for 3 weeks, when I changed the stock supercars, and ripped them off for BFG Rivals. Car felt like a boat with the S04s. The Rivals worked perfectly up until I sold her. The RE-11s are in the same category (extreme perf summer) as the Rivals. The PSS are max performance or something like that.

stock c6z06 sizes. 275/325

MPSS are just as cheap as Invo's though. So I don't know why Invo owners are cheap and MPSS owners aren't...

You can get the Nitto Invo's for about $1300 shipped. Then you have to get them mounted and balanced, assuming the shop is even equipped to do so and whether they will or not (Gateway Tire will not install non-run-flat's on a run-flat designated vehicle, for instance)

MPSS's, purchase price, tax and install was around $1580 for mine..and that supposedly comes with a 30K miles guarantee on my front tires and 15-20K (can't remember which) on the rears. We'll see.

It's the good sets of run flats that are $2K+. All the other tires are sub $2K and many are in the $1500-1750 range, mounted and balanced. Put about 5k miles on the car annually and this becomes a relatively cheap maintenance cost for such a high performance car.

I had my car serviced at the dealer a couple years back and they promoised the best prices on tires. After all said an done, ended up paying close to $1700 for Invos, so I don't think I'm a cheap owner. lol

I've got a few months left on these tires now, but never too soon to plan for next set.

That's news to me. For 345/30/19 (Discount Tire Direct)

Nitto Invo - $336.22 each

Michelin PSS - $465.71

That's a difference of $129.49 per tire.

Nah, I paid $409 for my MPSS rear tires and like $315 for the fronts. After tax and install it was just under $1600. You might save $200 going with Invo's, but they are in the same ballpark, IMO.

I have RE-11's, but only on the rear, and they are not run flats, so I can't say much, except that the tread design looks like the NTO5's. I remember, when I first saw them I thought they had messed up and ordered Nitto's.

What do you run on the front?

I run General UHP's on the front. I bought them just before they discontinued them. They have about 30k miles on them and still look new. They are not great for road racing, but I do not road race.
Originally, I had NTO5's on the rear, but for some reason they wore out before the fronts.(who would have thought) I replaced them with RE-11's.

I still have not made up my mind.. was doing some google searches last night and ended up on Viper forums. Numerous guys on there have ran mpss AND invos and said invos are actually slightly better in a straight line.

Pretty much a fact the mpss corner better when pushed.

I'm really looking for more data on the RE11s. I'm leaning toward the MPSS right now, but I want to make sure I'm not going to regret going with the "extreme performance" tire.

I'm really looking for responsiveness, and sharp turn in, and I am also looking for halfway decent tread life. I don't care about wet weather performance, ride quality, or noise...I bought a Z06. But I don't want an 80 treadwear tire either (Toyo 888, Nitto NT01, and Michelin cup are all a No-Go).

Basically, I'm looking for a street tire that makes my sports car feel like a sports car.

IMO and from what I've seen in real life...the RE11 is a bit more extreme than the PSS. I know guys with Z06s that track and don't track on RE11s and get about 11,000 miles out of them. They are a fairly soft compound tire and between those the PSS...I'd opt for the PSS all day on a 100% street car.

Also...if you're looking for a step down in performance from the PSS....the Bridgestone runflat is a great tire...lasts a long time, decent traction, and best of all-its a runflat.

Yup...I had the BFG Rivals on my C5Z, and thought they were great. Didn't necessarily think they had the most absolute grip, and they took a bit to warm up. They also only started with 7/32s tread depth. I only had them on the car for about 4k miles, but they looked to last about 10k miles. But they were very responsive and had a sharp turn in.
