Default Help with PS removal '07 Z06

'07 Z06

Pump is shot, and pressure hose leaking, so have to replace both.

Can't get at the pressure hose fitting on the bottom of the PS pump.
Alternator and idler pulley are off.
Outer two PS bracket bolts are out.
One bolt behind pulley is loose, it looks like there's room for it to come out as bracket assembly comes forward, so won't have to mess with the ABS. Can't get a crows foot up onto the hose fitting. Tried for an hr.
I think the whole assembly would drop down a bit if I took out those last two bolts, but don't know what the assembly would press against trying to loosen the fitting.

Since I am replacing the hose, can I just cut it to get the bracket and pump assembly out? Cut it with what?

I've looked at Froggy's videos - but a C5 not C6 Z06.
Other posts were C6 but not Z06, my hoses and mountings seem to be just a slight bit different.

Any suggestions welcome.

Also, how will I get the end of the new hose into the new pump?
Getting a Turn One pump, with their pulley.

Thanks...

remove 2 bolts holding ABS module to sub frame. Move that forward. Remove the rest of the power steering bump bolts(4 total, 13mm I believe). Then you can move the power steering pump around and work with it and have access to the bolts to the rack or whatever else you need to get access to. Trust me, dont cut anything, just remove the abs module and your work area opens up dramatically to get all 4 power steering pump bolts out.

Got the bracket with pump off.
Opened up the area at the top of the steering box.

Was able to remove fitting for the line from the steering box.
Was bitch getting on it with flare crows foot, flex joint, and long extensions. Angle was bad, and std crows foot couldn't get in there, nor could shorty wrench. That fitting has a torque spec of 20 ft/lb.
I'll guess it took 50-60 to break it loose.

Don't see any way to get the tubing out from around the steering box, since the other end is still attached to the pump and bracket.
ABS not the issue.

Now have to be away for a couple of days.

Turn One pump will be in end of the week with the new hose.
The new hoses are completely different from the one on the car now.

Since I'm replacing this hose anyway, I may just cut it. Have a mini cutter that should get in there.
Will give it a last try at getting it out without cutting.

Close quarter hacksaw cut the line just where it comes around the steering box.
Really easy after that.

Routing for new long u-shaped hose that does not include directions.
Called O'Reilly tech support, and they emailed me some pics, and the TSB.
Attaching here if they may help someone else.
Routing varies by suspension options.
My Z06 cooler is a bit different than the FE4, but close enough.

The pic and TSb call for a bolt -- no idea where to put it. Did not use.
