Default Cammed Z at track

Ive tracked a Z I owned prior at least 2 times. The Z was almost unmodded. I recently got an 07 cammed Z. The Z actually has the Lingenfelter 660 package installed. My question for you track rats is, should I be concerned tracking a Z with a big cam?

I'd check the guides/valves for wear, replace the valve springs, and put CHE bronze bushings in the rockers for good measure.

how's the ACR?

If the car is tuned properly the cammed engine should love a track setting! Lots of rpm's and you can run it as it was meant to run!

I imagine your Lingenfelter heads were set up properly (Concentric geometry) with new (better than OE) guides....IIRC they have their own PM guides. Everything I've read suggests that "big" or high lift cams can be a concern when running stick rockers...the wipe pattern when fully extended can create side loading. Many are suggesting a roller setup in that scenario.

I have a LPE 660 car or it was before I re did it again just because I cannot leave my stuff alone. Only issue you may have is the intake guides will wear fast due to the CRNi coating on them which is abrasive and wear all guides out fairly quick. The exhaust valves and guides are fine from LPE. My intake guides were out of spec at 6000 miles. With that cam since it comes on hard after 5K you will find yourself shifting ALOT. I have 3.73 gears and still shifted alot to maintain in the narrow powerband that cam provides. Otherwise your fine. DO NOT do COMP trunion upgrades. That cam and spring package will da,age teh trunion and put metal particles in your motor, Take it from me it happened!

I think we need some pictures to confirm that.
