Congratulations on your Viper. Beautiful car I bought a Gen 2 GTS coupe in September and love the car. I didn't sell any of the Vettes but sure wish I bought a Viper earlier. They are a blast to drive. Enjoy it

My buddy bought a newer viper. I drove it for 10 min. I know you had a few vettes, but I would bet you any money that you will be back in a vette in the future. I did not like driving the viper at all. I hope you enjoy the car, have fun, but I think you will come back to a real mans car.

Sweet car. I would now consider one if I traded in my 08Z as I don't really like forced induction. I was at Archer Racing's new shop in Duluth, MN - they know a thing or two about racing Vipers. Had a newer viper engine sitting out. What a piece of work. Fricking huge!.
These cars (vettes included) all need 4 inch front brake cooling ducts I was told from their experience, maybe you know that already. At least that was their opinion which I treat as fact.
Congrats.

That's right. I can hardly believe it myself, but after 13 straight years of owning a Z06 (03' C5Z, 06' & 09' C6Z's & 11' Carbon Edition C6Z) I no longer own a Corvette.
2 weeks ago I traded in my Supersonic Blue 2011 Carbon Edition Z06 on a 2014 Dodge Viper GTS. There, I said it.
This is the only picture I have of it so far. It has the aero package, hidden/built in Passport radar detector, upgraded stereo & carbon fiber interior package. I got a good deal on it and a pretty good trade in value on my Z.
I'm still not sure how or why I decided to do it. I had been searching the 'for sale' sites and saw the Viper and just had a gut instinct to do it. It was the same instinct I got when I first saw my Carbon Edition...So I went for it!
I haven't really driven it with all the rain we've had here these past 2 weeks. I HAVE polished it up nice though in my garage. I can't wait to put some miles on her. It is VERY nice & they've come a long way over the years.
I looked at a Viper in 03 before I got my C5Z and I couldn't fit in it (knees hitting the dash,etc.). Now there's plenty of room & it's much more refined, and the interior is nicer and more advanced than my Z was.
I Already have wheels & brake cooling ducts ordered for the track. Tires to follow shortly.
Although I haven't been on here much recently, I'll still be popping in from time to time. The Viper forums have hardly any traffic, unlike the Corvette Forum!

You do what you want to do. Opinions aside, different eyes see different things. Still American super car performance! Have fun keeping the black clean!

Doc, congrats on a beautiful car. If you don't mind me asking, what factors caused you to go from the Corvette to the Viper?

The value for the money was there as well as being able to get a newer model with low miles.
