Have BB Fusion 3" exhaust with no cats? Step in.
I currently have the Fusion exhaust on my Z06. I have 2"/3" ARH headers and X with cats. Although the exhaust sounds amazing with the baffles open, I want more noise.
Just how much louder should I expect the car to be if I remove the cats. Anyone have experience with this?

I have fusion with Arh and no cats and on quiet mode it's nice a little drone in 6th at 70/80 mph but otherwise fine
Open its loud and pops and cackles
Fuel Smell is bad though but assume that's my cam

Removing the cat's is usually never worth it. If just for the stink factor.

I am not sure. Is there a way to tell by looking at it? It was purchased used.
*** I am at work right now so this is the only photo I have. Ya ya dirty.. I like to floor it a lot. haha. Maybe it can help as you can see the pipes behind the tips. The OD of the tip is 4"

It's easy to tell by looking at the ID of the two center tips. The Fusion III has a full 3 inch pipe all the way out of the two center tips. If the inside diameter of your tips are all the same than you have the old one. I'll see if I have a pic of mine.

I will measure it when I get home to confirm inner pipe outlet size behind the tip. From the pictures I'm finding it looks like the tips are the same but the pipes going to them are 2 sizes. I know there is a small welded on badge on the exhaust driver side muffler. I saw BB on it. I may take a closer look and see if it holds the model or not.

I have a set on my car. Not dreaming here. The center ID on the center tips is larger than the two outside tips. If you ck the advertising for the new Gen III it will say the two tips are 3" all the way out. Maybe I'll go in the garage and get you a picture.

Don't take me wrong. I know emotion is hard to read on the web. I'm not doubting you for a second and I do appreciate your attempt to help me discover which I have.
Straight from B&B sight.
Regular Fusion: "..... The “quiet” side is a smaller, muffled and chambered tube, while the “loud” side is 3” tubing straight through. ....."
Gen III: "....The Billy Boat Gen III exhaust is a full 3-inch
system, which allows for your Z06 to
be the beast it was initially intended to be...".
This is where I got confused. I researched it when you asked which I had. I honestly cannot see a difference between the two in the tips or outlets. I'm wondering if the baffles in the can are just different?? I will agree that when you look into the tip that there is an obvious larger pipe in one that the other but the tip itself looks the same from what I'm seeing. To me the outside tips just appear to be necked down at the inlet of the tip. I could very well be wrong.

I just saw the new B&B's going in my HCI build which are supposed to be the Gen III Fusions with the 4" round polished pipe tips, model 0566. The outer pipe coming out of the muffler is definitely smaller than the inner valved pipe which is 3" throughout. The Gen II's were model 0466 with the round tips. I should get the car back this week.
OP, my x-pipe will be catted.

To answer OP's question...Idon't really think removing the cats is going to give you more "noise". Its just going to give you more "fuel" smell. Does your car have an "X" pipe or "Y" pipe?

Listening to mtomlin1's videos, that car sounds pretty close to mine with the flaps open but we all know video sound can vary. Without a doubt the exhaust open flapped is not by any means quiet. I'm not afraid of smells. I have run all of my modified cars with the exception of this car without cats. I just don't feel like I'm getting the noise from the 440 I should. If I could get some "popping and cackling" that would be fantastic. I'm not really shooting for the sleeper sound. I'm no speed shop tuner but I'm guessing these cats have to be holding back some sort of power. The car is roughly 600whp as it sits.

I used to run the old version Fusion, 2" american racing headers and 3" mid section xpipe and no cat. It's freaking loud! It droned horribly for me. I finally got sick of it and bought a corsa sport system and no more drone. But that system is equally as loud on wot.
Side note, I never had the vac system working on my valves for the mufflers, so it was open all the time. That's the diff between you guys and mine. I don't think your drone would be too bad with the system closes. But open all the time, was just too loud.
I'll look for a vid of mine and post it up.
