Default McLeod RST up in smoke

I bought some c5z fronts with some old tires on them. My thought was to send them up in smoke before I put my drag radials on. Drove the car around for a while to let things get warmed up.... then dumped the clutch heard the tires chirp jumped on the brakes and thought man I'm smoking these things this is fun let off the gas and realized I smoked the clutch. A lot of me feels like an idiot but part of me wonders what happened. Shouldn't that clutch have bogged the engine before slipping so bad? Be nice if I did something stupid... I'm pretty tough on myself already ha. It only has about 4,000 miles on the clutch, new slave, fluid and had been running great.

If you popped the clutch it shouldn't have slipped. Once you get it apart you may find out more. I don't see that you did anything wrong. Without knowing exactly what happened and how you drive it maybe the clutch was already damaged.. A lot of guys don't get these bled all the way and they ever so slightly are engaged all the time causing excessive wear in a relatively short time. Best way to test this is to put the car in 1st with the clutch in and rev the engine. If it rolls fwd on flat ground you need to bleed it further. Just guessing here.

Damn that sucks. So you were trying to do a burnout and smoked the clutch instead of the tires? I've seen it on video before.

My guess is YOU F'D UP!!!...got excited and stood on the brakes to hard. Those tires should be history, not the clutch.

I did something similar apart from it was my axle that let go! 😂😂😂

To much grip, to harsh clutch and to much power

And the wingnut taking the video should have signaled him to stop when he saw the wheels not spinning and smoke coming from under the car.
