Default 2006 Z06 did NOT have NPP exhaust ...so what is this Vacuum setup?

This hose w check valve was split completely and hissing very loud. I thought it was just Exhaust Vacuum for NPP exhaust but in 2006 wasn't an option until 2008 Z06's.

So what is function of this??

I'm pretty sure all C6 Z06s have NPP (it was not an option).

NPP was not an option for C6Z, only standard C6 with intro of LS3 in 2008 and later MY. All C6Z from '06-'13 have vacuum controlled valves in OEM exhaust similar to NPP.

Ok, I need to just cap this ****** off. No telling where that vacuum is going. I did look to pull the Fuses for NPP and there were NONE marked for exhaust. That is when I realized no NPP on my '06

The line your finger is on is the vacuum line that controls the exhaust baffles (npp). Standard equipment on all 06 ZO6s.

the fuse is under the passenger foot well, not under the hood.

Your car had it.

Pull that green connector off and cap the line right there.

Otherwise you have to pull the intake manifold off to cap it there.

All C6 Z06's came equipped with the dual-mode exhaust valve system from day 1. IIRC, the 'NPP' is simply the RPO code for the dual-mode exhaust option that GM added to build sheets when they offered this feature to other model Corvettes & Camaros.

Now, the Z06 did get different mid-pipes and mufflers on later model years. Earlier Z06's had H pipes. Later Z06's and ZR1's used X pipes. And I think only 2011 Z06/ZR1s had the X pipe with only 2 catalytic converters vs the 2012+ with 4 catalytic converters.

Correct. The '06 Z06 I bought had a Corsa Sport installed, and that line was capped off since it was no longer needed. Cap it and you're all set.

Just in case, let's make sure you understand exactly what to cap off..

The nipple that needs to be capped is on the back of the intake manifold - good luck getting to it w/o pulling the intake back a few inches.

I suppose you could do a male to male vacuum line adapter and cap one side, insert other into the end of the hose (you'd have to remove the hose from the fitting with the green release).

You only care about capping the hard line coming from the firewall to keep dust or debris out, no other reason..

just pull the fuse... that keeps the vac solenoid in the back of the car closed, no vacuum leak.

Thx to all for info. However, Fuse box in footwell does not list anything for exhaust. Actually for the location where those fuses SHOULD be there are instead labeled as BLANK extra fuses

I did however plug off on the Nipple from Green connector as well as the Vacuum side with little check valve.

All of this because I'm experiencing a slight surge in low RPM range and thinking its related to this Vacuum leak.
