Default ARIZONA area roll call

It looks like a lot of members here are from AZ. I'm interested in finding out just how big the local community really is.

I'd also be interested in organizing/helping organize a group drive somewhere around the state.

Just chime in if your a local and if you have any interest or ideas for trip.

And just how far away do you have to be in order to not be a local?

With no location in your empty profile, you could be 4 hours away from me. Maybe it'd be a start to identify you more.

There's at least a couple thousand Vette owners in the Phoenix area, so did you want to contact them all?

^^ fair enough. I'm in Mesa. For now I'm only planning on reaching out to z06 owners.

I come from and hang out with the local S2000 community. They have one of the best organized enthusiast communities I have ever been a part of. There were weekly meets (now bi-weekly) and usually at least two well organized weekend drives every year. I would like to emulate that experience with the corvette community.

Good luck. Best place to start maybe the Corvette's and coffee in Chandler on 1st Saturday of the month. Typically 60-100 cars there.

I'm local (on the chat board) but up in the high country where the heat is tolerable. I get down to the Valley for some ProAuto events at Wild Horse Pass and will try out so 1/4 mile events at some point.

I just had HCI work done at CPR in Mesa.

There are ton of vette owners, and z06 owners. But there are also so very distinct groups, and some don't get along with others.

I didn't realize that it was like HS around here. All the guys on this site seem to be like minded and friendly. How do I know who are the cool kids?

Peoria.
AZDave let me know when you plan on doing a ProAuto event.
I do a few a year It'd be nice to pit close to eachother.
I'm sure you'll be waiting for it to cool down a bit before hitting the track

Right now I plan to do the July 16 6-10 AM ProAuto Wild Horse Pass East event. That would be the first strong running of my HCI car and the Wilwood front Aero6 calipers and GT72 rotors. I do need to get my R888's swapped on the rims as they have only been run on clockwise tracks and the outsides are worn, swapping may not be optimum traction, but better than the street tires. I will likely come down with a friend that has a C7 Z51 and we'll stop at Loves across I10 for me to top up with 100 octane unleaded. It will probably be hot, but I have run at WHP before in 100* heat and it was OK (dry heat-haha). The rest of their schedule does not look like it will work for me this year. I don't like/run the West track (big autocross track).

You have two tanks in the Vette, unless you are below 1/2 on your gauge, all the 100 octane will go into the right tank -- and you're running on the left tank. Takes a while for the small siphon pump to mix it thru, so it's not like mixing 5 gals of 91 and 5 of 100 and having 95.5 octane.

I see 3 owners from the West Valley. I'm in Goodyear. I've gotten along with every Corvette owner I've met but I don't know a lot and I'm not at every meet so I can assume there may be some bad blood between a few. But I'm down for a cruise or hangout or spirited driving. Just lmk.

FWIW I'm too busy during the week for the whole weekly meeting thing but I can make time during weekends.
