[Z06] ARIZONA group drive this Sunday

A few years back I had a Z06 clique which had about 15+ owners, and we would run on Sunday mornings early in the morning 5:00 a.m. to avoid "traffic".
I'm also part of the local ACE group, and had a big drive down to Tucson for a run up Mt. Lemmon some years back....75+ cars. Some cruised, and some pushed it up a notch.....or 10
Don't get discouraged by the initial responses....it's pretty warm out and some have family obligations when summer hits.
Once my car is back on the road, I'll start attending more driving events.

The problem with runs like this is, some people whine about the time, the distance, the price of gas, or how many bugs they will have to clean off their garage queen at the end of the day.
And the challenge with our Mount Lemmon run then was, lead foot leaders who seem to forget we had 75+ Corvettes in tow. So rather than pull out of our parking lot and take it slow for all, a race down the road don't help keep the group together. And despite that, we could have slowed down and pulled off just about 1/2 mile from the base of the mountain to regroup before we snaked up the mountain.
That being said...it was a sight to be seen!! And we had a great time.

Thanks for the info guys! Sounds like we could have a pretty good turn out this time.
ill update with details when we get closer. It will be the same loop, but we will do it in reverse from last time. There seemed to be a lot more 2 lane passing areas in the other direction.

Alright everyone. This weekend is the drive. I have finished the plan for our route and included it as a link at the end of this post. I have heard that there is a game on and people will want to be able to watch it. So, we will plan to get started around 8-8:15. There should be about 4hrs of actual driving, so that should give us time for a few quick stops and gas and lunch.
So, the plan is to start at a Sonic in Apache Junction. These places are usually empty in the morning and are a good spot for some photos. This one is also close to the 60, so hopefully we can stay as one group to get there.
The next stop is at a place called Maria's and is just a quick regroup and maybe photo op. They also have good food if your ever back in the area.
Next up is the Shell gas station in Globe. Everyone can refill and be ready for the second half of the trip. If people are interested, Globe has a cool old downtown that is basically deserted. It would be a cool place to line the street with vettes(if we have enough) and get some pictures.
The last stop is for lunch at Jake's Corner Bar on HWY 188. Its kind of in the middle of nowhere. The food is good and the prices are reasonable.
From here we will mostly stick together until we get to Shae Blvd. People that live in scottsdale or other northern cities can break off and head home. Everyone else can stay on the 87 and get on the 202.
For anyone that may want to catch the game as a group, I am open to suggestions about an east valley sports bar.
Keep in mind that the High for the day in Globe is expected to be 59F.
I am expecting 7 cars right now. That is not including anyone from here. So, this should be a good turn out.
The Route!
Please chime in if you think you will make it.

WHP aspect of this event is a Saturday only affair, which includes the street drive and all racing events.
Friday night is the dyno event.

If businesses want my money, they need to speak directly and not through a third party.
So Victor, are you going to WHP Friday night?

So, I'll miss Street Car Takeover and NoFlyZone 1/2 mile later this month.

$175 in stock at Sands and less than an hour in your garage. No need to wait a month, unless that's just an excuse. WHP is also open on Dec 16th.

24237634 Slave Cylinder
CORVETTE; W/O SUPERCHARGER
$270.70 list $175.13 website price
19331708 Master Cylinder
CORVETTE; W/O SUPERCHARGER
$147.82 list $95.64 website price
Probably cost less at Midway and in stock both places.
Are you sure that they said 1/3/17 and not just the 13th or 17th of this month? You could do a clean sheet design and build in less than a month, so something doesn't seem right about the time.
