Default no traffic in the C6Z section

did every1 on this forum sell the C6Z and moved on to a C7Z???

seems really really slow and pretty much now new treads/builds etc

ive been lurking around the C7Z section which seem to have lots of traffic and discussions and to be honest and about to make a move to and get a C7Z, and I might just keep my 06Z ( gonna have to drag out the sale of my C6z and tell my wife that i cant sell it unless i take a big hit $$$ on it )

Maybe it's just summer? I know I'm pretty busy, and sure I am not the only one.

Some of you are not giving quick Rickie enough credit. Biggest shitstirer I've ever seen, bar none. #1 on my very small ignore list. When he moved on, the vast majority of conflicts came to an abrupt halt.

I've had my C6Z almost 8 years now and still believe it's the best Corvette ever made. But you can only read about the valve/head problems, the muffler mod and the how to paint the calipers threads so many times. There are a number of engine build threads, but living in California they don't apply to me. It seems like this section is either old topic threads or advertisements. Mostly advertisements.

Ironically, less is more in this case.

In a section like this, it's 85% "please help solve my problems" and 15% "hey look at at me, I spent mega $$ and now I make more power than you".

So fewer threads implies fewer problems.

But yes, I do miss arguing with people about various topics.

The demise of the C6Z section boils down to this. People get tired of the valve guide issue thrown into every thread. Beatin a dead horse all day long.

I don't care for the C7. I didn't even notice.

I get tired of sifting thru all the vendor ads here.
I go to the C3 section where interesting stuff is going on.

Well, I bought my 2007 Z06 in December 2010 when it had 300 miles on it. It now (since I moved to Tucson) has 32,000+on it. The only thing that has went out on it is the rear hatch latch. All the piston and valves have stayed in the holes they were meant for. Did not do a wiggle test. No plans to.

Bought my 06 with 43k on it, and it has a 90 day PT warranty.

Its up in a few weeks so I'm getting the heads done at AHP and throwing a cam in while I'm there.

If you can sleep good at night more power to you, I cant knowing how many heads have had out of spec guides. I'm not rich enough to replace a lunched LS7.

I'm curious why you come to a forum at all.

My 09Z had 46k miles on it when I had the heads checked and did mods. The actual guide measurements (not wiggle test) were out of GM spec on all exhaust valves and 6 of 8 intake valves.

Good luck to you, MasterDave

Three to four years ago it was an all out war over here, I was nearly kicked off and I am pretty passive. The C6Z section is much more enjoyable now.

I have had a Z now going on 4 years. My 10th Corvette. I come here to see what other folks are saying/doing, and to help others with problems they may have with their cars. Other than that, its just for entertainment.

I do hate all the ads too, but I guess thats the price we pay for the forum being free.

I like contributing when I can. This place has really helped me understand what I own and love.

Always wanted a vette, and the time and place fell together in a lucky sequence. Glad I made my purchase.

I'm confused by your reply. My point was that most people visit car forums to fix things (or share fixes) or show off new toys. It's pretty boring looking at a stock Corvette.

If your reply wasn't a personal "dig" at me and an honest question, the reason I come in here is primarily to 1. learn from others about my car, what can go wrong and why, build my troubleshooting and technical skills in all areas, and 2. contribute to the forum when and where I can, sharing my own personal experiences, helping people troubleshoot problems, etc.

I am not a waxer, I am a builder (well, at least an assembler anyway) and a driver, so I primarily focus on "technical" threads and topics, don't really surf in any other sections (I do enjoy occasionally reading about all the fun the C7 Z folks are having).

There are a few others like myself - from reading your posts it seems you have similar reasoning for being here. The "arguing" comment was a joke, but I do enjoy spirited discussions.

I am curious - what is the origin of your CF handle, "Tech"?
