I got the car passed through tech inspection. Sailed right through it. I received a Class B license up to 199 mph, glad I have prior race history. I'm all prepped to race now. I'm planning on doing one final lash adjustment per Tony's recommmendation prior to assaulting the runway.
Driving impressions: Little more surge below 20 mph. It needs 25% more clutch work than the K501 previous combo. On a positive note it cruises at 60mph with a hint of surge. Barely any. 70+mph and it's clean. VERY cruisable.
Power coming off the corners is surreal, only surpassed by the throttle response. I've never felt torque like this out of an NA engine. This thing is a thumper. I haven't ran it out the backdoor in any of the gears yet. Hoping to work up to that by tomorrow. The car annihilates the MPSS 345s in 2nd. It will be like driving on ice below 100mph this weekend.
Also, I was wrong about DSS. The new CF DS vibrates a bit at 2000. It's tolerable IMO, hard to notice, but I want to admit when I'm wrong. Shifting effort is reduced, shifts like butter.

C2 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
Josh, look out for a blue 1967 vette that will be running. He is hoping to break the 200 mph mark. There is lots of info on Jim on the C2 and C3 forum. He goes by 427Hotrod. Good luck and be safe. I have enjoyed this thread.

Josh,
I only notice the shaft vibe when revving it in neurtal at idle, around 1900-2200. It seems to vary, some times being worse than others. When driving it is not noticeable. Not a huge deal, nothing I'm pulling apart to fix, but I just wanted to make sure you knew about that and were going in informed. I don't know if I would trade or go back to something else, but next time it is apart I may have it machined and attempt to fix it.

Trying to figure out how the driveshaft vibration is engine rpm dependent instead of vehicle speed dependent since it is connected to the rear end and the disconnection point is at the engine (clutch). I don't doubt what you are saying, just trying to understand what would cause that. Solid mounting, CF flex, fabrication misalignment, harmonics?

Guys,
An N/A vehicle somewhat "un-optimized" for this type of event (no taped front end, no smaller front tires, no sticky rear tires to aid traction) knocking on 200 MPH in the mile without the benefit of a tailwind is freaking awesome!!
Josh is starting the run on an ice skating rink with his street radials in the first two gears (Michelin Super Sports are useless at 100 RWHP less). The ability to apply power sooner here would really be helpful considering how hard it is still pulling up top.
The 128 trap speed in the quarter shows how much of a hard time he is having applying the power in the lower gears (this car would trap low mid 140's on sticky rubber) and the 40 MPH increase to the half mile shows just how hard this car is accelerating once its planted and just eating up asphalt!
Wish I was in Austin to better enjoy this!
BIG congrats man....car must be a blast to drive....cant wait to hear more about it with the sticky tires on it when you get back to Florida!
-Tony
PS....Buddy....I agree....Im hoping for a 198....although with the right conditions and if he could apply the full power sooner somehow to get that first part of the track looking a little stronger I think 200 is potentially within reach

Congratulations Josh! 195 mph with a naturally aspirated car is impressive, you have to be happy with the result of that pass. I think you can hit 200 mph
