Aww man just found this after the price increase to $299. Any way to get in on the preorder pricing considering they haven't shipped yet?

We have 125+ people at the $249.99 price.
As we promised before, we would be raising prices and it is only fair to people who have pre-ordered and some who have waited since October that we do our best to keep our promise.

As far as the price, once the majority of the parts land, we expect to stabilize the price at $349 or $399 depending on wholesaler feedback.

Fair enough. Do you think one roll of the Butyl would be enough to do both headlights?

1 Butyl roll is enough for 2 headlights with some left over.

UPDATE 3/2/2017
This morning we received an update from the factory production run start. The eagle eye'd among you will notice some interesting picture details of course.

The production is proceeding as quickly as possible. While the whole production quantity will be completed this weekend, we are getting only 4 Cartons (8 unit pairs per carton) shipped on Monday by AIR to us. That represents only 32 units. Currently, the first folks in September, October, and some in November will be taken care of as well as two local installs will be done. We have 3 headlights waiting for the work, so will keep you posted.

Finally, we expect to have the majority of the units to cover everyone's pre-orders by roughly end of March after the initial batch units, but depending on "need" we may air ship another 32 units shortly thereafter.

---
Thanks for everyone's confidence, support, and faith in the project. We're almost there.

UPDATE 3/6/17

Today, the factory began loading all the preliminary 32 air shipped units and the remaining other units we have into the truck to be taken to the final check point for shipping (the shipping broker).

From there, we expect the 32 air shipments to be sent by no later than Wednesday (possibly tomorrow) after final QA/packaging into larger shipping units.

We will post updates on delivery times as soon as they are available.

Here are the photos of the packaging...we are moving as quickly as we can.

We will have enough to not only accommodate the FULL pre-order list of people that have pre-paid, but many more after that. However, we will raise the price to $349 once those final units land here...so if you are considering pre-ordering, now is the time to save a little moola.

Thanks once again for everyone's confidence, support, and faith!!!

UPDATE 3/8/2017

We are only able to get 16 units - 32 pieces - shipped here by DHL, (not 32 units/64 pieces). The cost to ship even those 16 units is prohibitively expensive - over $900 by AIR, if we raised the shipment to even 32 total units it's $1800 and $2800 DHL if you do 48 pairs.

That's over $58 per unit pair to ship by air. That's too much...however, our sea shipment comes out to barely .05 per unit pair, so...yeah, sea it is.

Because of the favorable sea shipping rate we're getting, we are brokering the shipment through a 3rd party. This may delay delivery by a week, but it will keep costs reasonable for shipping.

Why is this important?

It will allow us to keep prices reasonable.

So here is further proof that this isn't vaporwear...also, we're purposely not showing how many total units we're shipping.

UPDATE 3/14/17
The first 16 lenses have arrived, for now, here are the preliminary photos of the parts installed either later today or early tomorrow. We have two local headlights that we're installing but nothing that we can install on a car until a customer brings the car we have planned late next week.

What happens next
We are shipping the first 12 sets, 2 local installs, and keeping 2 units here for the 2 cars we had planned to install.

Who is lucky to get the first sets?
In order of who paid first:
Mike H. - confirmed
Bryan S. - confirmed
Bryan A K. - confirmed
Adam R. - not yet called
Lars A - not yet called
Douglas S - not yet called
Michele M - not yet called
Ralph C - not yet called
Michel P - not yet called
Adam S. - Local Customer for Install
Rich J. - not yet called
Kasey S. - not yet called.
Kevin S. - not yet called

When are the rest coming?
As a reminder, the parts will be arriving in the Port of Oakland by hopefully end of this month or worst case 1 week into April. There are plenty to go around as we have already scheduled ANOTHER shipment due to demand to leave April 2nd.

We will be making labels only when the parts have landed.

When will I get a set if I buy today?
This is very important
We have a lot of units coming on the vessel shipment. But, we also have a lot of pre-orders. If you are one of the next roughly 30-50 people to order, you will likely receive it on this shipment.

If you buy today, your price will be $299.99 per pair of lenses. Starting Monday 20th, due to pressure from our vendors/wholesalers, will have to raise prices to $349.99 and that is likely the final price.

If you are international, you will be shipped by the method you have chosen. We really look forward to some posts soon!!!

Anyways, here are the photos of the parts that just landed:

Apologies for the spamming of this thread today. We have completed our test fitting on John T's C6 Corvette headlights with our Zen6 Lenses.

Without the final seal, all the parts fit and line up perfectly. Of course you all know the dramatic change in appearance is unbelievable.

Any questions, now is the time to ask.

Ok, enough words, let's let the pictures do the talking. Our favorite is the last photo, where you can actually make out the Zen6 logo on the lenses

SUMMARY*

COMMENTS ABOUT OUR PRODUCT/SERVICE
We think our product and services speak for themselves and we want to make a case for it here. Buy your lenses here
  • A) We promised you a product and we are delivering it. We have shown you real products, real manufacturing, real packaging, and real shipping. We are not selling you vaporware.
  • B) You have purchased or will purchase a clean, highly professional, OE looking product, with minimal fuss or extra branding on the lenses
  • C) You are working with a company that is capable of doing a soup to nuts approach
  • D) We have a professional web site, where you can select options that work for you.
  • E) We have been doing professional lighting since 2001, and will be around to help you as time rolls forward - along with our partners.
  • F) We offer a great price. It will go up, but it will still be less than anywhere else.
  • G) We built the mold to handle 5000+ units, so don't worry if you don't get into this batch coming, the next one is right around the corner, and the next one, etc.
I know you guys haven't heard from us in a while. Please don't worry, we're still here, still monitoring the sea shipment and still working our butts off on 2 more installations we should be completing later this week.

We will always err on the side of too much communication vs no communication.

Details
Do you have any emergency units left?
The initial batch of 16 sets of lenses are making their way into the hands of their pre-order buyers from September and October. The short answer is no, all the 16 units are in usage.

So if you are in November, December, January, etc. your lenses will ship on or around April 7th-10th, this may be delayed due to some customs issues as usual, but we have already pre-cleared the shipments and have a telex release done.

DOT
There are some positive DOT developments with a local DOT certification lab in our area. We will have those posted when ready. But suffice it to say, we're going to have some info for those of you worried about Canadian DOT/US DOT.

Who is the lucky one?
The lenses we did received have been shipped out, so you should start seeing some reviews shortly, especially from John T who just received his today, he's the first.
Then we should have a few comments from some of the ones we've shipped very soon.

I WANT TO SEND MINE IN ASAP
Please be patient here, we will be offering 3 tier approach to installation services.
Tier 1 - Standard install services slotted into the normal workflow of our headlight building services. Cost ranges from $250-450 for work.
Tier 2 - Expedited/Scheduled install services. This will include Tier 1 pricing structure but will have a $150 scheduling priority fee - we will schedule a date and after 5pm, our installer will put your order as high priority completing it in the evening with no distractions. This will basically be like a 24/48 hour turn around vs up to 3 weeks with Tier 1 (estimated).
Tier 3 - Custom - encompassing many options like custom painting, lens etching, projector improvements, dual projector installation, angel eyes, DRL/Sequential LED strips, etc. All options we currently do for other cars (we'll show you options at a later date once we get closer.

I'm curious to know if there's a way to remove the lenses without having to pull off the fenders. I thought I saw a thread on this but it was a long time ago and would have no way to find it again.

our installation for the local customer fell through, turns out that while he was local, the car is actually in North Carolina, so we can't yet make a video to show you guys how to do it.

Generally, we recommend bumper removal on all headlight removal jobs because you don't necessarily want to scratch a part of your bumper trying to put the headlights back in (nor scratch your new lenses) but we'll be showing all that on the video soon.

We're in the middle of doing a headlight now that is black, it's taking 3 hours longer than the one with the grey/silver style glue.

Both headlights have the same markings on the side and 0 obvious information (at least to us) about the date/time of production.

If someone can give us some insight into which lights show any specifics (if they do) that would assist everyone.

Below are 3 photos:
1 showing the markings on the side of the headlight
2 showing a BMW headlight that shows markings on when it was built
3 showing a headlight we're currently working on it.
