Default ARH 2" Header install

I'm getting everything put together to install my ARH 2" headers. I just wanted some verification on a couple of things.

1. I'm going to get an ARP stud kit. Looks like part # 434-1301. Is
that right?

2. I've read in other posts to use GM exhaust gaskets instead of the
gaskets that come with the headers. The part # I'm finding for
them is 12594171. When I look for these online it shows them
having "D" shaped ports when the ARH 2" are round. Is there
different part #?

Thanks!

Ryan

I use GM for sure. I'm running exhaust gaskets used on an 2002 camaro and work just fine.

I'm thinking you want round port gaskets like these: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oe-gm/12617944

I don't know if this is the exact part number you need for your application though...I used these on my old C5Z with some headers.

After some more searching that is the part # I need for the exhaust gaskets.

Thanks!

ARP studs were a pain in my C6Z. I couldn't slide my Kooks headers over the studs without removing a couple of them. If I were to do it all over again, I'd use bolts.

I thought long and hard about going with a stud (OK, stop it!!) and ultimately decided to use the nice plated bolts that came with my Kooks.

For gaskets, I love these - they just plain work! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

on arh headers use their graphite, they are very vocal on it and never had one leak. On kooks or any other brand we use oem gm ls gaskets based on the application.

Do you know what their reasoning is for not using GM MLS gaskets?

probably inconsistency in the flanges and the thicker graphite will help eat up that difference.

Ya definite no on using the stock d port gaskets as the will leak. I used the arh supplied ones at first but I have never been a huge fan of the graphite stuff, I ended up ordering a new set of the round port gaskets and they are in the car now leak free

I found the round GM LS gaskets. Part # is 12617944

What are the torque specs of the bolts?

18 ft lb is what they take. Honestly I've never torqued them though just a good tight turn and walk away

I've torqued them. Waste of time. Just a small wrench and don't act like Godzilla and they will be just fine.
