Your car? Good question on worth...no clue. But it is a heck of a roller platform to build something really fun if one were to get creative with an engine.

I think the way to assess it is look at what that would sell for with a properly functioning motor, then back out the $10k + hassle someone could get it running for. Probably looking in the mid teens somewhere is my guess. Best of luck, sorry to hear.

Lets say it is a 30k car running, needing engine and labor worth what 17k if every piece is there broken or not ???

Sadly I agree.
Figure $15k to get it running again for most people, plus the huge risk of not being able to tell what else maybe wrong/damaged. So if it was running it maybe worth $31-32k, but without an engine way less. It would be worth just throwing any junkyard motor in it and selling it to carmax or trading it in somewhere over selling it without anything.

It's really a shame that "internet hysteria" is going to cost the OP around $15K.

I'd say $10K on the high side. The car would be worth around $27K running. Minus $17K for a new motor and there you go. I wouldn't give near $10K myself due to the fear of what else is screwed up that I'd never know without the car running. I'd figure the car suffered a ton of abuse, which led to the blown motor. Fix it as cheap as you can then sell it.

Throw a used LS3 in for under $5K. Lots of buyers don't care about the power and only care about the badge anyway.

A good condition 1LZ 2006 can be had for 27K as Undy has said. Looking to fleabay, you can buy a complete low mile take-out including the oiling system for 11-12K plus shipping. Then you have to (or pay someone) to swap it out. Anyone's labor labor is worth something. I would say that if the rest of the car is perfect, no more then $12K. Anything else would have to be deducted from that. All depends on the condition. Post some pictures of the car for better results.

I would think that car would be a prime candidate to retrofit a TSP LS3 in 376 or 427 CID, around 600hp. A crate LT4 for a little less would be an interesting conversion, but I'm not sure how easily that could be done. A crate LS7 can be had for like a little over $11k. Do the numbers, get a quote from a good speed shop on a crate motor swap, and see if you can weld some aluminum back in place enough to make a coffee table out of the original engine.

Car would be worth right around $10K. Since dropped valves are a known issue with the LS7 I wouldn't figure the car had been abused even if it had seen heavy track usage. Other than the valve issue the drive trains on these cars are damned tough. Abuse is when somebody doesn't take care of a car properly or uses it outside of its design limits and you really don't see a lot of that in the Corvette world.

Sounds to me like 10k to 12k is a steal. Under 30k for a Lemans Blue Z06 with a new engine? I can't think of anything else I would rather drive for the money. Where is the car? Seattle?

$27K for a 2006 Z06 with 50k miles? Don't think so. I am selling mine for $34.5k (now $33.5k) and have been offered $30k twice and have another guy with $31k trying to get the extra $2.5k. My car has 62k miles, 2LZ, fixed heads, cai, and exhaust. I wouldn't even reply to someone who tried to offer me $27k for my car.

Plenty have sold with less miles for $30-31k. Local guy got a nice heads/cam/wheels/etc etc car for $31k in cherry shape with ~50k miles. If you can get $31k I would take it and enjoy. That is what they are selling for from talking to locals at the monthly corvette meet. Maybe Texas has a stronger market.

Those of you saying good condition 50k 2006 Z06 can be had for $27k please show me. Finding one car on the market out there for 27k doesnt mean they are all selling for that. That one car you find for $29k will have 70k miles with a stock motor ready to blow up.
Just that everyone know dealers at paying $26 to$27k for these cars at auction plus fees, plus shipping plus reconn, fresh report from Manheim
^^Thats wholesale up there
Those of you that IM'd, this car has a clean title, 2 owner car no accident see Carfax below
