I'm a Ford guy that just purchased my first Chevy , I've ran e85 on every vehicle I have owned , I'm not saying you have to drain it or run it out as a requirement to run e85 just a recommendation , my 03 cobra made 768/673 with 80lb Siemens deka injectors at 55 base fuel pressure with 23psi so in my mind 52lb injectors would suffice for 500-520 NA horsepower , does that make sense ?

52lbs at 60psi base pressure, 80lbs SD are rated at 43. So in reality comparing the 52lb are like 45 or less.

Go for it, not my motor.

I dont know where everyone got the 600rwhp comment from? What I read is he said he ISNT trying to make 600, but rather 500-520. Thats right about the max that I would want to run a LS9 injector on E85 but will be fine. At 600rwhp I agree it wont work

Look on amazon. I got everything for $120 shipped as a package. Get a total of 2 gates hoses. Its too tough to make 2 lines out of one length. Youll also need a couple of extra hose clamps.
You will reuse your stock fuel sock. I also cut my fuel basket to make sure more fuel was getting in.

Exactly , also we all know that it would just be my waste of time to choose an insufficient injector then take my car to have it tuned , because my car is going to a reputable tuner and he will just shut the car down and tell me I need bigger injectors , usually tuners don't like to go above 85% of the duty cycle of the injectors and or pump

Could you make 525 on stock zr1 injectors and e85? Yep. Would it be maxed out with no room to grow, yep. I rather not push an injector that far and just get a good set of IDs to start with.

That's sound advice , I would think some 60lb injectors would be fine

How come people only change one of our two pumps when going E85? Isnt the other pump just as likely to fail?

There is only one electric high pressure fuel pump and it's located in the driver side tank. The Pass side pump is a low pressure transfer pump that is powered from the fuel pressure from the driver side.

So the fact that's it's low pressure makes it less susceptible to E85 damage? Seems like it'd have similar non ethanol rated seals and such in it.

Solid advice! I have my 80lb injectors from my A&A kit floating around if you wanna an inexpensive pair. However, I too would recommend buying a set of ID injectors. They are amazing and I've never had an issue with them.

Well after reading all this, Im pulling my injectors to see if the PO put different ones in. I was at 560whp and at like 70% duty cycle. So they must not be stock ls7 injectors haha so the Zr1 definitely wont work!

Do you happen to have any pictures of you fuel pump swap , or any advice/tips on the project ?

Here are some pics. Didn't take many pics of the install itself. The cross over tube is a real pain to disconnect. Definitely must take the driverside muffler out to get access. When reinstalling the cross over tube i used white lithium grease so it slipped in smooth. Good thing my buddy was over b/c he did the install once before. I also cut the bottom of fuel pump assembly as you can see. Reuse the original filter sock. And buy 2 of the gates hoses. One length isnt long for both lengths needed. I also made the looped one very long so it wouldn't kink when its compressed. Just take your time and you'll be okay.

I chose not to have CPR install their Flex fuel kit as there are no stations within 80+ miles of where I live and none near several performance events I do. For the few places it may be available to me it was just not worth it. I couldn't bump up the compression because of the 91 octane crap gas that is generally available to me.

I meant if you are running e85. If you only run pump then no reason to run it. If you are going to use e85 then run flex fuel.

Anyone know what pin to add to the ecm for the flexfuel sensor? Also what part number for the pin for the ecm?
