i rechecked my cylinders 1,2,7 & 8 intake and exhaust. my calculations from the previous post were off. the number of turns from zero lash was off. Turns out 18.75 turns from the base on the checker gave me a preload of .029(5/8 turn). 18.75 x.050 +6.8=7.738 length. Subtract that from a 7.750 pushrod gives me a difference of.012. so if i add that to the preolad i should be around .041 preload. in the spec of what johnson recommends .035 +/- .010.

What made you choose the johnson lifters over stock LS7 lifters? Anxiously awaiting results as mine should be very similar!

researched quite a bit, overall a better lifter, slow leak down rate, less preload needed. I actually had the ls7 lifters and returned them, I have a pretty decent cam and wanted a lifter to handle it better even though the ls7 lifters would have done the job. o and no failures that I could find

I had my stock heads milled .30 and ran a .40 gasket and was stock intake/TB and made 580/510. I would mill them... so didn't read the 2nd page before posting.. I'll stop with the wild turkey for tonight

Actually, Maryland Speed has ridiculously good prices on JBA LT's (best I've seen). Not a lot of JBA's on vette's or more particularly C6Z's, but JBA has been making very good quality stuff (made in the USA) for a very long time. Used their stuff in the past on various vehicles, and was always happy with fit, finish, and quality. Maryland Speed offers JBA's un-coated (409) Stainless 1 7/8" LT's along with an OR X-pipe for $914....and about $100 more to have the LT's ceramic coated. Definitely budget friendly American made LT's. Do they make the same HP/TQ as ARH, Kooks, LG, etc.? Don't know, but I'm guessing they leave a little on the table in comparison...but they also leave several hundreds of dollars in your wallet if that matters to you.

JBA also has un coated 304 stainless LT's that I think run closer to ~$900 (without a mid-pipe) for those that want 304 stainless.

My mamo msd and nw is in route and will be here on Friday. I will put the rest together over the weekend. We got some snow up here in ny and im waiting for it to melt. Id love to get on the dyno some time next week.

As of now im going to tune the car with the lg 1-3/4 long tubes. It will be a good comparison down the road when i go for a possible 2" setup. I'll look into those jba's too.

I just put in some amsoil break in oil for good measure and ill run that for 30 miles or so as recommended by comp cams.
The car has been apart for nearly a month and I can't wait to fire it up. Im getting so anxious lol.

I do need to rebleed my abs bc i took 2 lines off when wrestling with the steering rack. Im hoping i can borrow a tech 2 locally or ill have to buy one from aleiexpress for about $160(might be a good investment)?!

I see exactly what you're talking about. definitely bottle necks a lot. I don't want to modify this exhaust though. I know come summer ill be getting the itch to do something and that's when I will be slapping those 2'' LT's on.

I will be receiving my mamofied msd and nw102 today. I will be posting up some pics of the artwork
