Default Fast intake and ported throttle body question

I am considering a Fast LSX-R 102mm intake manifold and Nick Williams 102mm throttle body for my C6 Z06 and was wondering if it was worth the money. I have read yes and no on the Forum. My performance shop says no, but they also talked me out of a cam. I read that the HP gains might be pretty minimal, but torque gains are more noticeable. My current mods are Stage 2 ported LS7 heads (heads fixed), .20 mill, Dynatech SS long tube headers, X-pipe, high flow cats, Calloway CAI and dyno tune. The car is making 507rwhp. No cam is planned at this time, but I have been told to get the most out of these additional bolt-on mods, I would really need to go with a cam. In checking the cost of these parts, they are not cheap - $1,800+- plus labor and tune. 21st Century was telling me I would only pick up about 6HP, and certainly considering the cost for that amount of a gain, it would not be worth it. Just wanted some second opinions.

Thanks,

Just get a cam AND the intake. It'd be a whole new car. What's the hold up?

Even just the intake would be worth it in my opinion, but it'd do more if you had an aftermarket cam.

The hold-up is the change in drivability of the car (higher RPM while in higher gears and surging) and the smell. Also, not sure I want to heavily modify this car - it's pristine.

Just don't go crazy with a cam and you won't even notice a driveability difference but still gain power.

Just keep cats if you're worried about the smell and it'll be fine.

Katech has you covered

With a mild cam the 90mm made just a few less HP, but a few more torque. The conclusion was that the 102mm would only be beneficial if running a wilder cam.

This made my decision to not buy a 102mm "more justified". But i will probably spend those 600 bucks somewhere else anyway

With the info out there on the Mamo ported MSD intake, I would not even consider the FAST. It would be nice to see what a full bolt-on car would make on the stock cam. If you do pull the trigger on a cam, consider something along the lines of a BTR stage 2 camshaft. It's a mild upgrade and should not change the driving characteristics very much, if at all.

Zero reason to run a fast anymore. Msd is better in every way.

Thanks for the input. After doing some research and talking to Matt at 21st Century Muscle Cars, they recommend the MSD manifold over the Fast as they are seeing better results. He said they seeing a 25rwhp gain with the 102 throttle body over stock in a cam car. He did not know what it would make in a stock cam car. I would probably bit a bit less - maybe 15-20rwhp I'm guessing. The cost is $2,250 + tax installed with a re-tune - ouch!!! Not sure it's worth it, but it's tempting.

Find the manifold used. Install it yourself. Pay for a retune. It's not that hard of a swap.
