Default New Purchase!

Well, after many years of waiting, I was able to purchase my first Corvette. 2013 Z06, bone stock. I was torn between this one and a '15 2LT Z51. Looking forward to the info on this board to maximize the output of this beast!

Great color combo with the wheels/body. If it's me I fix the heads and then drive it for a year without doing anything else to it.

There are plenty of options out there. How are your mechanic skills? If you think you can do the work yourself and can have the car down for a week or two, consider hitting up a few places for quotes on head work.
AHP
WCCH
AI
RPM
Vette-Air
Vengeance Racing
Tony Mamo
etc...

If you'd rather pay a shop, find one near you that understands the issue.

No dealer recall. You'll get 50 different opinions on how to fix the heads.
I can tell you whatever you do don't go cheap. It'll cost you more later.
My heads were bad at 3500 miles. Seems as though this problem effects all model years the same.
I have 20K on the new heads, no problems so far but I guess it's time for an inspection.
I used new OEM intake valves, Ferrea hollow exhaust valves, CHE bronze guides, CHE rocker arms, Manley dual springs with Tool steel 10 degree retainers. Work was done here in Houston by Late Model Engines. I'm sure you'll be able to reuse your intake valves, mine were just that bad.
Good luck and enjoy it!

Cool. Thanks for the replies, which I'm sure you've stated many times before! I'm in metro Atlanta, so there are plenty of options. Shame on me for not doing a little research prior. Could have used that in my price negotiation. Once I got behind the wheel, it was pretty much sold.

Good choice of color. But then I also have a cyber grey Z06. 2010 3LZ with black 5 spoke spilt wheels.
Please check your heads. When I bought mine it had 20500 miles on it and all of the intake and 3 of the exhaust guides were out of specs.
After all the work I done to it I have put 25000 + miles on it in 2 years at 575 rwhp with no issues.

Love the cyber grey, it enhances the sleek lines of the car. I picked up a 2013 Zo6 the day after Labor day 17,800 miles. Two weeks latter I had the local Chevy dealer check it out. At 2000 rpms it was tapping fairly loud on the right bank, really noticeable with hood up. Replaced both heads under 5yr 100,000 mile warranty. The only thing they reused off old heads was the rockers. I had them install new lifters just to be safe on my dime. Good luck and enjoy your new ride.

Great color and great tint and wheel combo!

We have a DIY on how to check the heads/wiggle test, that might help:

Another atlanta Z06, nice. Vengeance Racing isn't too far(they are in Cumming), so they would be a great go-to shop
