[Z06] What is missing in this picture?

Also check from the passenger side of the engine compartment, check to see if there is an engine build plate with the builder's name on it. Only Z06 and ZR1's had this.

Classis corvetteforum responses:
"run away"
"sketchy"
"Its probably a base model"
Calm down. Many easy ways to tell if its a real z06 or not, most of which have been mentioned in this thread. Could be the dealer is performing the recall, nothing more nothing less. If you listened to half the people in this thread you could miss out on a great deal on a clean, genuine z06. Do your due diligence, check it out, if it is up to snuff, grab it!

I agree there's a bit of too much play safe. There's no risk taken until money and keys are exchanged.
Anyway can someone post an inside cabin pic of the roof in a z06. I'll compare it with mine.
The magnet trick is intelligent but would a body kit not be made of composite materials too ?
is there a spot on the body which would not be traditionally replaced in a body kit.

All C6 have steel frames including GS, except Z06 & ZR1.
Zs use aluminum, a magnet won't stick.
Instant, fool-proof test as to car's validity.
As other have stated Z cars were FRCs, all except '13 AE 427 & they're roadsters.
Not sure WTH's pictured unless car's had a very expensive targa install.
Run the numbers on this one, love to hear what you learn.

Funny I woke up this morning with yet another Z06 on sale. 2011 31,000 miles for $ 32,000.
I guess this weekend will get busy :-).
Dubai is a very strange city regarding cars. A c6 z06 is a way more rare than a 458 italia (according to the local craigslist). There's over a 100 458's on sale and only 4 C6 Z06's (c7 is different story).
Could my 3 year wait finally be over?!

It's up to you how much to spend on it. If the insurance co bought it back then it probably has a salvage title. Not sure what happens to a salvage title after it leaves the states.

It indeed had a salvage tite according to carfax. Insurance bought and then sold it. It seems it was fixed and exported here. Passed our import tests got insured and driven.
2 years and 5,000 miles later it is still here.
its gonna be inspected by the DMV and if it fails i cannot buy it.

I don't know by how much a minor crash impacts the price of a car but I found that a similar spec z goes for 40k. He priced it like that a few weeks back but he lowered the price Thursday to 34.000 and I bargained it down to 30.000 if I made a quick move.
car will be going through inspection so if anything unorthodox shows up I'll know about it.

If it was just damaged and repaired I would worry alot more about it than if its been on the road for 2 years since the repair. Either way a proper inspection will show you what your working with.
Nice CF kit and a cool color.
If you need Heads or Parts give us a call (or email). We have shipped several sets of heads and lots of parts to the UAE.

Allright boys and girls, the car is now mine.
I'm a proud "daddy" of a 2011 supersonic blue 3LZ with full carbon package and ride control.
21.000 miles and I got it in the very low 30's. There's a few bells and whistles that need some ajustment and work.
1. One of the tyre pressure sensors is going a bit nuts. They really are garbage on that generation of corvettes.
2. none Ceramic breaks are on their way out.
3. The passenger buckle sensor is not working fully (Chevy report states a faulty sensor).
4. The passenger door leather is a bit dry and needs to be taken care of as it squeaks.
5. the fuse for the butterfly valves is missing (he took it out and can't find it) so i'm driving with my valves open all the time. Not sure if its fun all the time.
6. The MPH speedo has got to go its really confusing for me in a land of KPH
7. tyres needs to be realigned a bit
8. subframe is damaged
9 body panels need to be added
10. missing one headlamp
11. one of the rims is cracked need to swap it
12. water reservoir is busted
that's all for now

The back ones are not ceramic the garage who repaired the car in 2014 has put some non ceramic breaks in the back. I want all four of them to be ceramic so i'll swap them at a later stage.
I know the install doesn't come cheap and for now the existing one's will do. For that price i can't win on everything.
Also maybe some corsa exhaust at a later stage. I've got 11k$ left on the side to fix and refresh. If it goes wrong the forum will be there to pat me on the back and advise me.

Does it come with an owners manual??? If so, I highly suggest you read it. Also, I'm pretty sure you can change the speedo readout to read KPH.

I tried to get the local dealer involved but since the car isn't from "his" market he declined the business. His loss !
