Wow. I would find another dealer.

I bought mine from a dealer and paid more than private party, but it was the exact car I wanted and I was able to get a full and lengthy warranty with it. They moved around on the price a few grand.

They are welcome to call you back in the meantime if they want to sell the car, as you did like it and are a pre-approved, motivated buyer. (what I would tell any dealer selling a mass produced car at a premium who isn't willing to negotiate and adds on a bunch of non-sense to the price).
Anytime someone tells you they found one cheaper and less miles than the one you have instantly makes them look like fools. If there is a better deal out there why are you wasting your time looming at mine before looking at your better deal.

I thought the dealer was supposed to be the shady negotiator in the equation.

While I was at the dealership yesterday I had the service man dig up some more information on the other yellow vette with vin 1G1YY26E865112334.

This poor thing has been trashed. 2 differential replacements and a clutch replacement and it only has 26k miles on the clock and when they started it up it was ticking from one side of the engine. My guess is the PO drag raced it non stop to trash 2 diffs.

I did the exact same thing...bought from dealer, was exact car I wanted.

to OP...keep looking, the right car is out there just takes time. I think I looked for a year before I found my car.

Good luck with your search and do you have a color preference and or price range? It might help if you posted what you are looking for.

The right car is out there and for the right price (realistically). That said, if you plan on keeping the car for a while don't sweat a G or two to get the one that is well taken care of and has the options/mods you want - that is a small amount of money in the grand scheme with these cars. I'm going to be in for about $2k this year just for tires and brakes - nothing special, either, just normal wear and tear.

I looked for about almost two years for mine and stumbled on it at a dealer while visiting some relatives out of town. I wasn't concerned about option level or color and just wanted a low-mile, unmodded Z06 that didn't appear to be beat on. After a little dealing they wound up matching what I'd seen for private party sales at the time - not bad with a CPO 1yr B2B warranty.

So let us know what year, price range, options, color, etc. Most on here are glad to help. There is a black one (not sure what year) and a 427 vert for sale here in my city.

I assume you have looked through the C6 For Sale section here. That would a great place to start.

The best advise I can give you which virtually no one mentions is go to an exotic car dealer, IE Ferrari Lamborghini ect. This is where I purchased mine back in 2011 from a Ferrari dealer here. They got in the exact color Z06 that i was looking for and the guy traded it for a Ferrari. Common sense tells you that those type of people generally do not abuse their cars. Yes you probably will pay a little more but it will more than likely be flawless. Hope this helps.

Honestly....you aren't gonna get any love at a dealer. Find a seller on here, autotrader or craigslist....that's where you will find a better buy.
