Default Installed Burns Stainless NhB 450 exhaust on my H/C/I jsb Z

Installed the Burns Stainless NhB 450 exhaust last night. First test drive will come this weekend. First impressions are this thing sounds incredible!!. Wayyyyy more subtle at idle than I would have guessed. Nasty when revved!! Very very easy to install. Ridiculously lightweight. I wanted something "different" than most. I see very few of these on c6z's. Now I'm asking myself WHY??!! Fit and finish is SUPERB and Vince over at Burns has been absolutely great to deal with.

My quad tips should arrive next week 😬

Mods:
AHP heads
btr stg 3
Formato ported FAST 102
nw 102
haltech mf 103
kooks 1 7/8 w/ catted mid pipe

Sounds pretty good. Never heard of them before. Not sure I like the way the ends are made...need to see them on the car. If you like them, that's all that matters. Congrats.

I'll find out this weekend. That's when my first outing will be with it since the install.

No doubt they are of high quality. My beef with them is they are too quiet and the tips look like they belong on an 80s chevy truck

Clean install though and I love your wheels

Depends on the system you get from Burns. My car is 106 dB with their smaller mufflers and it sounds like a cup car at WOT

Yeah, these are the smaller 4.5" mufflers. I can't wait to hear it WOT. It was exceptionally pleasing to me actually when I fired it up and heard it at idle. Very deep and mellow; and way more subtle than I'd anticipated. After hearing TONS of c6z exhausts I have to say that this far I'm extremely impressed with this setup. My last Z had an Akrapovic and even that sounds nowhere near as good as this at idle and while revving imo. Hell, I still think the OEM is one of the better sounding exhausts for our car. One reason I'm gonna just hold on to my zr1 axle back

I called them last year and asked if theyd make a kit with the tailpipes together rather than spread but they said not at the moment(aka "no")
I am considering their 650 kit so I can make sound at the track.
How long are those mufflers? They look to be a good 16" long
Thanks for posting

Nice setup and lightweight too, what do they weigh...~24 lbs?
I remember when they developed these for another member to install on his track car. Some tips will finish it off well.

I have the 12" long/4.5" diameter Burns mufflers on my car and they are loud as f$@k and drone like crazy but I love them. The
Mufflers weigh 2.2 pounds each. For comparison the Corsa Sports weigh 25 lbs each.

If drone isn't an issue, you have one of the best systems money can buy for the C6Z. People that say too quiet...lol I guess there are people that think a muffler delete is the way to go, but to me there's more than noise to a good sounding exhaust. A free flowing exhaust with well engineered mufflers that controls pitch and tone like the burns is worth the money. Cutting mufflers off like I've seen in other threads just sounds like ****...like it's missing something, because it is. Loud for the sake of loud is just noise...doesn't mean it sounds good. OP, good choice! Post up some more when you get a chance...

I'd guess you wouldn't make 103db at 50' away then
I'm trying to decide on a system and I think I might need to go with the 6" one to be sure

It will be interesting to see if you have bad highway drone in 6th gear 60-75 MPH. At non-highway speeds it is easy enough to avoid drone by shifting into other gears but I wouldn't want to take a 100-1000 mile trip and have to drive in 5th on the highway.
