Default White residue on door panel

I'm wondering if corvette makes a permanent fix for the white hazing our door panels get. The white residue annoys me so much i might switch door panels, but they wouldn't match my interior

Probably not. Off gassing, a warm damp clothes takes care of it.

I take it you're using some type of oily interior dressing such as armorall etc? you need to fully clean it, removing all oils and residues. start using something with less oil in it

I was using mothers from back to black. I will try cleaning it with a damp cloth and try 303 instead

That Aerospace 303 is outstanding, good stuff. I use it in and on my Vette and my hunting rig. Rick

yeah, that's not what back to black is for. it's use is for outside black rubber such as the black seal on the top

Several years ago there was a bulletin concerning this issue.

Seems dealers were replacing door panels in order to satisfy customers complaints. If fact my dealer had replaced both door panels and the dash pad on a client's car under warranty.

The bulletin, in large bold print, instructed, not to replace panels for this complaint.

Instead do the following. Clean panel thoroughly with ACDelco Leather, Vinyl and Plastic Cleaner, pn 10-8029. Follow up with ACDelco Leather and Vinyl Conditioner pn10-8030.

I was somewhat disbelieving but thought I'd give it a try. And darn if it didn't work and worked well. Since then, on the interior plastics, I've been using the above ACDelco products with satisfying results.

Agree Aerospace 303 is an excellent product that I use elsewhere on my car. One shortcoming is the plastic bottle it comes in is very fragile. Drop it but a couple of inches and you have 303 covering the garage floor instead of the car.

I'm under GMPP right now if only they would cover it. Nothing aggravates me more than seeing this on the door panel

I use lexol leather cleaner and follow up with lexol conditioner. Hard to spot after that. Lexol is available at your local autozone....

It's not a defect, it's part of the process. Most injected plastic products have this issue.

I fight this after each winter storage, frustrating. I've owned C4-C-6 and many GMC and Chevy trucks, none had this issue.

My wife's Lexus does the same thing. In fact, they (Lexus) is replacing her door panels and dash because of this very thing. Her car is an 06 too. Supposed to take it in next week for the front door panels and dash. Already replaced the rear panels. That's what I call service. 11 year old car.

Mine does that usually where my arm touches the armrest area or window sill. A quick wipe with 303 and all is well. Worst case I used a gentle interior cleaner before the 303.

Yeah, as others have said it's off-gassing from the plastics. Dash and door panels do it horribly in these cars. I just use a microfiber cloth and warm water and it's easy to wipe off.
