[Z06] Power with stock cam.....

Power with stock cam.....
So I see a ton of cam builds, but what can someone expect to make if they do all the "bolt ons"? Headers/exhaust, intake, throttle body, pulley, port and polish heads while doing the guides? Basically everything while retaining a stock cam. Thoughts?

504/479 dyno-heads fixed/ported by WCCH, cai, Kooks LT, x pipe-no cats, Akrapovic with tune. I didn't do a cam while fixing the heads since my last car had an aggressive cam, four years later I'm considering a btr stage 2 cam hoping to get 40-50 rwhp and keep 99.9% street drivability, if possible.

This guy did pretty much every supporting mod, but a cam...made 525 on the stock cam. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ight=stock+cam

A friend of mine made 503/475 with no pulley and with stock intake and throttle body.

Depends on what you mean by "bolt ons". I've made 1100+ on a stock ls7 cam. Then again it had a set of twins on it, but they did bolt right on.

553whp/500wtq with btr stage 2 and a corsa intake on 91 octane. Seems a little wild to do all the other $$$ mods, and fix the heads, just to leave the OEM cam in place..at least based on the answers this thread is showing.

The high performance GM guy near me who built the bottom end of my 78 C3, showed me the before and after MUSTANG dyno sheets (in his shop), not dynojet (reads at least 10% higher than the Mustang dyno and supposedly less accurate) for a 2009 Z06 with American Racing LTH's, Billy Boat exhaust with adjustable muffler flaps, KN cold air intake, and a custom tune, produced 48 more RWHP than when the car was bone stock....stock intake, stock cam, stock heads...even he was surprised....

As far as I know I have the highest stock cam ls7, heads are untouched as well no port work. I specifically did it this way as I want to see what I can squeeze out of a stock long block. Ported heads may come later with a LLSR can
my car consists of a lot of mods that most deem "waste of money and time" but they clearly add up. Lower number is on 93 and the 540 number is on e60. Ethanol gave me 20whp in the midrange though.... I have not run the car yet either however this is the dyno I have used for all my other cars and the track numbers and trap speeds have always backed up this dyno so I asssume this won't be any different.
im also not done I just mounted a vacuum pump kit and will be going to a 25lb clutch and I expect it to go over 550 next time. Any questions just ask
i recently ran a local cammed z06 that made 535 and we were neck and neck....he wasn't happy lol

10.62 @ 134 calculates to 565 engine hp. I have Kooks 1 7/8 with cats, Mantic clutch, Magnaflow mufflers, Airaid CAI, and Diablo tune. Also removed 180 lbs now weigh 3001. Thats equal to 30-35 hp.

507/490 with P/P heads and all the bolt ons. Stock cam

So if anyone has realized, I'm having a dilemma between deciding if a cam is worth the money or not, when I could do all the easier mods and come relatively close to my 530whp goal

2) You could do a modest cam and dyno tune in an otherwise bone stock car (no LT's, no MSD/FAST, etc), and hit that 530 rwhp goal.
So from a budgetary standpoint, it may be cheaper to just go with a cam, than buying all the supporting mods.
Case in point...Synergy Motorsports in NorCal has a "smog cam" that they do for folks wanting to mod under the radar in CA. This car has their smog cam, WCCH heads, and a Callaway CAI...541hp through the stock exhaust. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...g-package.html

I went with the LS7R from Texas Speed and I can tell you each time I hit the start button and listen to what comes next it is worth every dime to me!
