Default Can I please see your 19x12 wheel Setups (Custom or OE)

Frustrating there are no DR's available for those of us with 20's. Debating swapping out my 20's for some 19's so I can get some DR's (probably NT05r's). Like to see what setups some of you have...

Technically, there is a 20" drag radial made by Mickey Thompson. What wheels do you have on the car now? Is it possible to just swap out the rear wheel?

MT has discontinued their 20" DR. You can't buy them any more, except maybe on Ebay. But a lot of people had issues with wobble at higher speeds.

The wheels I have on the car now are 360 Forged wheels Mesh 8's, 20x12.5 & 20x10 I believe. Expensive & beautiful wheels and I really like them, I just want to have some traction. I wouldn't want to run a smaller wheel out back...wouldn't look right to me. Right now the car has Nitto Invo's, 345/25/20 & 285/25/20

Not sure why it's still on their site, I'm pretty sure they are discontinued. You can't buy them new anymore from any vendors. Plus as I mentioned above, a lot of people have reported a lot of problems, and I think that's why MT discontinued them. Here's one example:

Thanks NemeZ, that's one of the exact setups I was considering. Chrome spiders with the 345 NT05R's.

I also really like the cup wheels but I think they are 20's in the back.

F14's are pretty nice wheels and priced reasonably for flow formed wheels. It's one of 5 sets of wheels I've had on my 2012 5.0!

No problem! Yeah OEM cups are only 19/20. They do make 18/19 replicas but I would not bother with those.

I don't think MT discontinued them, but you're right that people had problems with them. I emailed MT a few months ago asking for an update on the redesign and they said they had no estimation on when they'll be ready. I'm not sure that _everyone_ had problems with them, however, and MT has taken them back if you have problems.

I have 19" MT S/S and they sway under acceleration but I haven't had problems at high speeds.

The current tire is discontinued, they aren't making it anymore, but I was very happy to hear they are working on a revised version to fix the problems!

I just emailed MT again, and got this response within 10 minutes:

Thanks for the email,
Yes we are currently working and testing this size right now working to correct the wobble problem it has with the corvettes that many had issues with. Unfortunately there is no time table on the re-release of this size but we are trying hard to get it out as soon as possible.

Thanks,

So that's GREAT news, that there may be once again be a DR available in a 335/25/20 size. Just a matter of WHEN.

Might just hold out with the street tires for now and wait. Like I said I do love my current wheels. I've always loved the classic Mesh look, particularly with a nice deep lip, and in chrome/polished/silver.

In the mean time though, I'm still very interested to see the 19x12+ setups, as I still may ultimately go that route for tire options...

These tires, presumably MT's other tires, are made in batches. If you've seen MT publically acknowledge that no more tires are being built, I'm all ears. They did not tell me that when I contacted them, but I didn't ask that specific question. I was only interested in the redesigned version.

The MPSS also had a wobble issue with certain batches a few years ago that has been rectified. Hopefully, MT gets it fixed.

Different ways of looking at it I guess. I'm just saying the previous version is discontinued, due to the problems, which MT acknowledges. They aren't going to make any more of the old problematic version, while working on the new version. And we have no ETA on the new version.

Here you go

Yes the older version has been discontinued about two years ago.

Thanks for the reply. So in the meantime, is the previous version essentially discontinued?
