Default Loud exhausts?

I just purchased a set of 1 7/8" ARH headers with catted x-pipe.

I want to bolt an exhaust system to it but I want the exhaust to be loud. I understand if I wanted loud I should have gone with a catless x-pipe but I wanted to avoid emissions problems or anything like that so I chose to go with a catted pipe. So with that being said what are the loud exhausts out there that are still good quality?

It seems everyone on here likes Corsas. Are those loud? What about the Borlas? I also understand exhaust should be for performance not "loudness" but I really don't think an exhaust on this car will gain much power...so I'm willing to pay the money for an exhaust just to help with the sound level.

B&b bullets are loud, I have not personally heard the Borla ATAK but read they are loud. I had the Corsas, lt headers with no cats and they were loud as **** wot, added bonus they are the only system that I've had that has little to zero drone. Your neighbors are going love you!

Is the catless AR x-pipe really that much louder than the high flow catted x-pipe? I have 2" catted on order and curious who has had experience with both...

I haven't heard a comparison from a person who has had both catted and catless as to if the catless is much louder. But generally speaking I thought catless on any car would be quite a bit louder than catted on any car. That is why I'm trying to make up for it with a pretty loud exhaust.

But yes it would be cool to hear from someone as to how much louder the catless is

I have the borla attak and love it ...lots of great options out there.... keep in mind that some of the louder systems generate higher drone levels. But to me it doesn't matter....

I had B&B bullets on my C5. They were loud as hell droned quite a bit. Cold starts were the worst. It would set off 2-3 alarm systems in my condominium's underground structure.

What was the quality of sound though? Did they actually sound good?

I LOVED the sound. Very throaty roar. I got plenty of compliments. I just wish I had an option to quiet them down sometimes.

So I guess the Fusion B&Bs are the best

There are plenty of videos on YouTube that I have watched. The problem is everyone on YouTube has different mods, and different quality cameras so I can't get an accurate reading of what it will sound like. Figured it would be better to come on here, explain my mods and ask others. But yes I've seen plenty of videos on YouTube

If you want loud Burns is the way to go! They drone pretty bad but under WOT and at idle sound amazing.

Yes an uncatted system will be tremendously louder that a catted system.

I have 2" Kooks headers with a 3" Kooks hi flow catted x-pipe and B&B Fusion Gen 3 rear exhaust. With the mufflers open it's pretty darn loud. Like a gorilla screaming in your ear. Heck, it's loud in the closed position.

What are you going for? loud as possible? If so - straight pipe. That and CAT delete or high flow cat retrofit. I dont know how it works in Nevada but we have "off road testers" here in Texas that will account for the "off road only" usage and help pass us.

Borla Atak, Corsa, and 2011+Z06/ZR1 mufflers are all gunna be pretty loud. Catless is obviously going to be much louder.

I have the 3" Bullets. They came with the Z. Took some getting used to. Without a cam they are deep and sound like the 427 should. Get used to drone. I just put it in 4th cruisin with the stock cam and its ok. WOT they are super. I think a lumpy cam would be too much. I love the 4" tips.

in my opinion, you tube is NOT your friend in this instance. There is no no way you can gather REAL life sound from a video. You will nedd to hear a REAL LIVE LS7 in person to determine the sound quality. Imho.

You need to go to Drags or meet, similar...

"loudness" is of course purely subjective.

On my cammed '05 LS2 w/ Kooks headers to 3" all the way back had a Corsa Sport exhaust on it. It was rather quiet below 3k RPM. Above 3k it screamed. Honestly would have preferred something louder when I owned it. I had plans to put cutouts on it before I sold it.

On my current LS7 I have Hinson 1-7/8" headers w/ a hi-flo catted H pipe out the back through Borla ATAK and I LOVE IT. The drone is tolerable and the exhaust note is just amazing.

Can't recommend Borla enough for these cars!
