I'd be more excited if I thought a poptop was a reasonable expectation. But I've pretty much decided that sticking my head out the window and drooling as 500hp rip the hair from my scalp is a substitute I can live with.

My only trepidation is the cost. I know I can't afford it, but I'm worried I can't buy it either. :-)

I certainly am! The thought of 500hp in a car that will be close to 3000lbs will make the C6 Z06 one of the most memorable Vettes of all time. I hope the Blue Devil will be produced, but that may be years down the road if at all. In the mean time, this car will provide remarkable performance and value.

The tough part is the waiting.

much, much more will mean a direct relationship in price.

It doesnt appear its going to be just a slightly modded car like the current Z06 is to the current model. But an almost different platform, I look for carbon fiber, widebody, aluminum frame rails, etc etc..

A C5 or C6 could be modded for much, much less, to outperform it.

I am still hot for a C6 Z06 tho. We will have to see what is comes out at.

Yes Tracey I am also very excited about the new Z. My next new vette will be a Z so I get to wait another year or two but that will be a fun time as spectulation becomes reality.

I'm so excited, I could pee my pant's !! I have made up my mind that the next Z06 will be my next car. I have owned one C5 (2000) (one Corvette for me) which I wrecked after 1 year and three month's. I have missed it terribly and tried to make do with what I have (Yes, I love my TransAm) but of course it hasn't been the same.

I really just think I will go nuts until the 2005 Detroit show where I am sure we will be discussing this next Z06 and where it will probably make it's world debut !!
