How much is my Z51 3LT coupe worth?
I have a new Vert that has been built and will be here in about a week.
I need to sell my 3LT Z51 coupe. Crystal red, brownstone, 7 spd, NPP. Current MSRP is $70,300 and it has about 5,000 miles on it and is perfect.
About 3 months ago it was diagnosed as having excess crankshaft runout and Chevy put a brand new engine in it rather than fixing. Everything is perfect.
What would be a fair price?
Thanks

I'd say whatever you're happy with taking. Fellow C7 owners will just tell you top dollar, because they want to try and keep their value up. Anyways, PM what would be your bottom dollar on it.

To me that engine switch out is a negative. I"m not even a collector so numbers matching does not matter........ but down the road......when I trade it as the second owner it can be a factor. Why not trade it at the dealer for the vert and be done with it? Perhaps you even get a tax credit.

Here in MO we get a tax credit whether we sell to an individual or trade in to a dealership. We just need a Bill of Sale to show the DMV what the vehicle was sold for. I agree though, the replacement motor does not help.

Tax Credit
on the replaced motor on such a new car.
Y'all got it good in MO, that's sweet you also get the tax break on a private sale.
In Texas, it's only thru a dealer (the old in and out deal)

I lived in KCMO for 9 years. Having the tax credit on personal sales is awesome. Plus you have 180 days to use that credit. As long as you buy and sell the same price point cars, you never have to pay sales tax more than once. This makes it easy for people to buy and sell cars without being a licensed dealer.

The engine replacement doesn't wash. In collectable cars,60s&70s Chevelles, Camaros, Corvettes, a CE block in a vintage Numbers matching car doesn't seem to alter the sales and price of such vehicles.

It was a 3LT Z52 7 speed with a list of $66,785. SInce the Z51 couple is in such demand, I had two individuals wanting to give $65000 for it, but the engine scared them away. I wound up selling it to a dealer for $62,000 with 5200 miles on it. Most people didn't seem to really care about the engine, but it did cost me about $3 grand in what I could have sold it for with the original engine.
Got the couple for $1000 of MSRP when I bought it and Got the new Z51 convertible with Supplier discount so I came out pretty good on the deal.

The clutch was chattering and not fully releasing on a higher rpm shift.. GM told them to check the run out or end free play of the crankshaft and that was it, after they had changed clutch fluid and master cylinder and it didn't help. They dropped in a brand new full engine and it ran great.
