Default Question - C7 Base Model 1LT ZF1 - Good buy or no?

Hello,

Im looking into 2 C7's,

First one is a Black C7 2DR Coupe 1LT with ZF1 Appearance package. Its a 7 Speed manual. The car has 8400 miles. Seller is asking 48K. What do you guys think?

Second one is a Yellow C7 2DR Coupe 3LT Z51. Car has 10K miles and Seller is asking 49K. What do you guys think?

Sorry! both being 2014. Both are manual. What do you feel about the price for that car?

Brand new would not cost much more at one of the forum dealers.....MacMulkin, Kerbeck, etc.

8400 miles and first year C7 woes not worth it....jmho

If the yellow one had NO issues, it might be worth the effort.
You can have a dealer print the service history using the VIN

If you could get the yellow one down to $46k I say it would be a good deal. 3LT has a lot more options for not that much more money, that's the way I would go. I'm biased towards the yellow because I love the color plus all the extra options your getting. Love the HUD in my car. Do either one have NPP ? That's a must have for me. Good luck either way.

Forget the first one. You can get a new 2016 base for $52,000.

The 2nd one sounds better.

These 2014's are a tough sell with little to no discounts when they were purchased new. And now with the age and miles of them, it's even tougher. With the deep discounts of new ones the 2014's are just not that good of a deal IMO. If they are low to mid 40's then maybe. If it's a fully loaded Z51 with low miles maybe mid 50's tops. Blame GM.

thanks guys. Im leaning towards the yellow one... but a 2014 c7 z51 with 10K mileage under 50K isn't a pretty good deal? Maybe i got the market all skewed up, but I thought that these were going for 55-56k...

I must be wayyy off

Sorry I didn't communicate that very well. The base model is not a good deal at all in my opinion. The 2nd one is a very good deal. There's no comparing the two. The Z51 3LT stickers for just over $70k brand new. With discounts maybe low $60's.

Second one could be a steal!
Assuming he'll take 48 for argument sake....
Does it mag ride? If yes buy it right away.

No other 3lt z51 with mag ride selling under 50 anywhere ive seen.

Does it have comp seats? -Would be a big plus.
Which roof? -Could be a plus
Carbon flash? -generally a plus

What color wheels and calipers?
-Silver and chrome look horrible on yellow cars (opinion... plus can be changed)
-red calipers are way too common on yellow cars and also look horrible. (Opinion.. Can be modified)

Make sure the 3LT Z51 car is not a GM buy back or previous GM test car. If so this explains the cheap price. Have the car looked at for previous paint work.

Yes.. Yellow one is obviously a better deal. I'm guessing more investigation is needed. Something doesn't add up. I think that's actually a reasonable asking price. That means it's there's probably a catch.

Black one was built in the last 2 weeks of 2014 production (I think?) as that is when the ZF1 option appeared - now if it were a LRG ZF1 it might be a deal as they can't have built more than 2 or 3 of those.
Otherwise a Base 2014 1LT ZF1 with NPP stickered for $56k, and probably sold for no less than $53k

So thank goodness i got away from those 2. Now that i know much more about the c7 z51 and all the options, im looking at this:

Corvette C7 Stingray Z51 - 26.5K Miles - Has the following:

- Mag Ride
- GT Seats - Not competition seats
- Nav
- Bose premium
- carbon fiber targa top
- heated and ac seats

Is 48.5K a good price?

You can get a new 2016 for a few thousand more than you're contemplating.

Excellent deals will be there especially since GM has released details about the 2017 Grand Sport .

Too many miles, there are plenty of examples out there with like options and less miles.

Just a little FYI,

Any 2LT or 3LT will have GT seats (its basically the std seat), all 2LT/3LT will have premium bose, all 2LT/3LT will have heated/a/c seats and all 3LT cars have nav.

When you say "carbon fiber top" all C7's with a solid roof panel (non glass top) are all made from carbon fiber. There is a difference between a "exposed carbon fiber top". This is when they charge you $2,000 to tape off the edges of your top and clear coat the center of your top and the edges are body color.
