Why so many C7's for sale???
Hello,
Getting close to buying my first vette.
Was going to buy a C6, but saw it parked next to a bunch of C7's so now holding out for a C7.
I Would really appreciate if some of you could post your reason for selling yours?
I am just curious why someone would spend so much for a car, keep it for a year then get rid of it.
I know it is a lot of money to tie up, for something that is not used that often.
I am concerned the same might happen to me.
Thanks in advance for posting.

I bought a Z51, sold it and bought a Z06, then sold the Z06 and went back to a Z51. Z06 was awesome, but too much car for me for a weekend driver.

Not selling as of yet.But if I find A Z06 at A decent price I will sell or trade it quickly.
Your not going to find many people that are saying the C7 is A lousy car.Thats not going to happen. For me it's the best car I've ever owned by far.

There are a lot of C&'s available but a lot of that has to do with people upgrading. It also has to do with GM nailed it and has sold a lot more units of the C7 so percentage wise there probably aren't more units for sale but in unit numbers there are.

Why are there so many automatics in dealer inventories? Is it because of the average age of the buying public?

A number of reasons. Age is certainly one of them. If you drive in a suburban environment it's not fun to shift all the time. Also, automatics have come a long way since that two-speed Powerglide. If Chevrolet offered something like Porsche's PDK transmission even I would get it.

Most guys want sticks but its the blue hairs wifey who insist that they must be able to drive
the car to the country club now and then and they won't drive a stick
at least in FL thats a big reason there are so many autos. I mean a why buy all that
power and coolness and hook a boring auto to it. Paddle shifters get old within a month.

Can be A challenge.I believe there should be A shifter on the floor also that would shift all the 8 gears.

A lot of 2014 and 2015 base and Z51s seem to languish on here a long time which makes it seem like a lot are for sale. Guys paid nearly the full sticker on them at first and now that all the initial demand is tapped out, dealers are deeply discounting 2016s to move them. If you're OK with a few less options, you can get a brand new base or Z51 for just a little more than used ones are going for. Sellers aren't getting what they want for them, so the supply of '14s and '15s continues to build up.

Hey, Thanks for all the replies.
I guess it is a mixed bag of reasons for selling.
I hope I dont find my self selling after a couple years.
I may fall in to the category with limited time to use it and I need to rent a garage so this will add to the cost and make it a bit inconvenient to use, but it is # 1 on my bucket list.
I prefer to by used, but looks like with some of the big discounts on new, I am almost forced to by new. I am only a couple hours from kerbeck.
also glad some guys touched on the auto vs manual topic. I am torn here but am leaning towards manual.
Please keep the replies coming.
I am still curious on more reasons for selling from guys not trading up.
Thanks again

I think a lot of people make impulse buys and are in over their heads financially. I'm amazed they have so many C7's here that have way less than 2000 miles.

There are more automatics for slae b/c there are more sold. I think it's like 65%/35% favor of autos.
Also, the 2014 had the old 6speed auto and the 2015 has the new 8spd auto. So if you're after an auto... most people are preferring to go 2015+.
The 2014 6speed auto is still a good box... it's tried and trued. Nowhere near as bad as the 2005 4speed auto the C6 debuted with.

Been looking at these prices. I know some of these C7s weren't paid at full MSRP (well probably none at 100%) but man, whoever is in the used C7 buyer side is going to get great deals.
