C7 coming in 2013........
Well, I think this answers a lot of people's questions as to when to expect the C7. I know a lot have been speculating 2011, but it looks like a couple of more years are to be added to that. The good news is, we have 5 more years with the C6, that's pretty exciting, especially for those on the fence about buying an 08. Straight from Conti's website,
C7 CORVETTE HINTS HERE:
“Production of the redesigned Corvette is to start April of 2012 for the 2013 model year. Three design proposals have been selected; the final decision is expected to be made this summer. Contrary to some reports, a mid-engine model is NOT planned, the front engine layout will be maintained”

It all made sense to me that we would not be seeing the C7 in 2010 or 2011 as some had suspected, due to this

To me, that is excellent news. That means that I can pay off Sunshine and enjoy her for a while with no payments. This will also probably allow me to purchase a villa in Italy and be George Clooney' neighbor!

To me, this doesn't make sense from a marketing standpoint. 2013 is the 60th Anniversary. They are sure to come up with a 60th Annv. package that will sell well because people love the special editions. These special editions are usually timed to land when sales need a boost. The first year of the C7 will need no boost. From a marketing point of view, it makes much more sense to bring out the C7 in 2011 and boost sales (ala Pace Car, RFZ during 3rd year of C6) or 2014 or 2015 and use Anniversary Edition for one more big push on the C6s.

All this speculation is pointless. The C7 will debut when GM decides - pure and simple.
FWIW - Dave has an excellent point. Since 2013 is the 60th Anniversary, I can see the C7 coming on line earlier than that in order to allow for the "special editions". I certainly cannot see the C6 lasting for 10 model years - that's way too long in this day and age of overhauls every few years.

And to top it off that was perhaps GM's best body style ever yet only went 5 years. I love my C6 but owned several C2's and loved the way they looked....... GM does was GM does and I won't believe anything until they make an offical announcement.......

GM seems to rarely hit their release date with the Vette, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's later rather than sooner for the debut of the C7.
I'll continue to drive and enjoy my C6 in the meantime.

how much better can they get with the c6? Is the c7 goin to be a tick under the current c6 ZO6 stadards? The new corvette engine is a monster. I hope the c6 run is a long because the car deserves it. The car hangs with some of the most expensive exoitcs in the world. It's going to be a long time until the C6 becomes a dog. Because of those reasons, GM has a longgggg time to come out with the C7, 2012-2013 sounds good to me
