Please GM change the mirrors on the C7

I will only agree that they should offer Power Folding to the people who want them. Personally I wouldn't want or need it when I still have the strength to get out of my $70K 0-60 in 3.5sec, 1.1g, sexy as a **** sports car and flip 'em myself.
I'd charge $300 for the option so as to under-cut the $90k Porsche 911's optional cost of $320.
Wait... waitaminute... U mean I only have to pay $320 to get Power-folding mirrors on a $90K Porsche with 350HP???

Yes, for retractable mirrors if the price is right
I have to get out each time I pull out of the garage and unretract the mirror. It is one of the few things I would want changed along with the hatch closing without opening a door or window.

Power folding mirrors could be an option, but I think it's kind of a silly thing to need as the mirrors stick out maybe 3 inches past the widest point of the car and if your garage is that tight that would suck. I park mine in a tight garage but have about 6 inches on both sides of the mirrors and feel like I'm pushing my luck when parking it.

The mirrors look fine but it would be nice if they were power retracting like most luxury cars have nowadays. After seeing the damage that can happen to a side mirror when someone hits it (happened on my wife's car a month ago), it would be nice to be able to bring the mirrors in every time you're parking it. I know you can do it by hand on all Corvettes since the C5, but that's a bit of a PITA to do it every time you park.

In the case of my wife's car, they didn't. The only damage was the side mirror, they must have just barely clipped it as they drove by the car parked on our street in front of the house. The stupid thing was, her car does have retractable mirrors, so we feel super foolish for not having retracted them. It was a $300 mistake we won't make again, BMW side mirrors are not cheap.

When I received the car measurered and the mirror tip to tip is 85 inches, 11.1 inches wider than the car. My 8 foot wide garage measures 93 inches molding to molding. That leaves 4 inches per side. Not bad but I do have to be careful!

Everyone I know already hates the floppy ear droopy mirrors that date back to 1997. Please if its going to be a semi change like the c5-c5.5(c6) at least change the mirrors. You will be surprised how many more people you can fool that the car is a next generation 'all new' car.

I have retractable, folding mirrors on my Jaguar XKR and de-activated them. Yes, they are cool to move in and out, but found that I really didn't need them to fold in.
A small convex mirror attached to the outside of the mirror will correct blind spots. You can buy them at any autoparts store for $2.50 or less each.

If blind spot detectors were not in the mirrors due to their added weight it's doubtful any power retracting mechanism would make the cut either. Not that both of these features wouldn't be desirable, but in the interest of weight-saving for fuel economy I doubt they will be production items. I actually expected the C7 mirrors to be somewhat different as well-perhaps more angular-but not a huge issue for me.

They did change the mirrors for the C7. They are not the same as the C6 and C5.
I'm not sure what your looking for them to do, but you do know that the laws are what affect anything radical or what you may think of as an improvement.
Other than adding power retracting to them, I think they look great for the car.
Have you seen the Euro-Spec ones?..........yuck!!

Besides the obvious requirement to be able see what's happening behind you, GM also designed the mirrors to crate some down force. They are two fold functional.

Exactly why we need the date of the original post on the first thread posted on the forum subject page.
Other forums do it. See tacomaworld.com for an example.
I suggested this to the mods once but to no avail.
Maybe someday.
