This looks great.
I hope they do something like this. I would like them to come up with a cleaver way of having hidden headlights, may be not flip up but something different, and a hardtop retractable top convertible would be great.

I think this depends on whether you like the C5 more than the c6 or not. I bet people who likes the C6 would not like the stingray concept and people like me who finds the base C6 boring would like the stingray concept. I'm hoping Chevrolet will come up with something even better than the stingray concept for the C7, something risky, sleek and aggressive, something as different from the C6 as the C5 was to C4. It might be a coincidence but I think the put more effort on the odd generations: c1, c3, c5 in my opinion are way better than the c2, c4 and c6. I hope the will keep this up with the C7

the beauty is: its 1/2 C5 & 1/2 C6 - A great middle ground to bridge some of the polarity between the two generations of potential buyers.
To me, it would appear to be able to hold its own visually for a few years.
Bring it on baby!!

Hope the C7 stays a concept car for a while longer
I hope the C7 stays a concept car for several more years. I just got this C6 and would like to enjoy it for a few years without a bodystyle change. ;(

While I understand I may be a little younger than some that can still work & enjoy the old school manual.. to me a sports car should not be to easy to drive.. otherwise were is the reward?

Well, actually:
"In 1986 the Corvette Indy Concept was launched. At the time it was considered to serve principally as a show-case for the newly developed Ilmor/Chevrolet Indy racing engine."

This is the 1972 Four Rotor wankel concept (it ended up with a pushrod small block and was renamed "Aerovette":
