Melting Slicks
Looks like Road and Track were there too
Thank God we have at least seen something now. It's about time we get some spy shots.

Just as I said in my post yesterday abou should I buy c6-ZR1 or wait for the C7
I'm leaning more and more to the C6 ZR1 it will be a great car for years to come I'm not sold on the small engine. Now if GM would announce that the ZR1and Z06 in the C7 would have the 6.2 litr engine and the Ls7 MoTors as optional equipment then I would wait and buy the C7 ZR1 with 6.2 litr supercharged engine now that's something I would be interested in with that new 7 speed if it came in paddle shift comparable to porsche or Audi tranny for the gallardo's if not that I rather buy something I know works and works well in the 2011 or 2012 C6 ZR1 and be very satisfied knowing the don't build those engines any longer
Look how long we had to wait for them to bring back big hp engines from the last year in 1970 until 2006 that's a long time , Ill take one while it's still available

Also, that looks like a 4-pot Brembo, no? Even though the C5/6 base brakes are more than adequate, it would be nice to see some fixed calipers on the base car. Camaros and even Cobalt SS's get Brembos.
The car also seems to have a longer wheelbase? The front wheel looks pushed further up, maybe the new car will have less front overhang.

I thought the small block used in the 'vette was made in Canada? (other than the handmade Wixom mills)

It appears to have some electronic cutouts? Or some vibration dampers to the mufflers.
Looks like it has less track width, although that could be the base car inside a GS body which is wider due to tires.
Those pics, don't prove that the car is smaller, although I wish it is since it will be lighter.

How do you figure that? Do you mean pad and rotor costs? If so, I can buy pads and rotors for my V with Brembos at each corner for far less than a J55 C6 Corvette, and maybe $50 more than a base setup.

Question
How much farther could the engine be dropped in the chassis. The c6 was designed to still have wet sump, and judging from cars like the sls and lfa, things could get mighty shifty if the c7 is to be a dry-sump only car. A shift down+back in cg would certainly benefit the vette "steering feel" and weight transfer. I understand the current sub-frame isn't designed this way, but with chassis/sub-frame tweaks how many more inches could that sucker be dropped?

They are at present.
There are capital investments being made by GM at that plant for the "new generation" engine.
The Vett folks at the Bash this year would not confirm if the Vett production will continue in the future at that location. Nor would they would give a date when the plant would be ready.
