Considering I will have 60k in bonuses sitting in savings enough to justify a down payment if I trade in my SS Camaro with it if they come out with those numbers I don't care if they use the same interior they have now I am getting one... Screw buying my first home I will rent out a garage and buy a couch.
Still I think thats insane... They would be in the charity business if they charged within even the 100s for that kind of horsepower but one can only dream.

An engine that has 920hp and a max torque of 14ft-pounds at that peak would have to spin at over 345,00 RPM. I say it is poking fun at those that think that peak HP is all that matters.

I'm not going to speculate (and think it's silly to) on the next ZR1. So much is changing for the Vette, EPA standards, safety standards and so on.
HP and TQ aren't really going to be the big game changers in this case, I believe. I feel that GM is going to have to work more on efficiency than anything else. With the ZR1, they're going to have to work out a way to make the car faster without drastically increasing power. By increasing power and torque to simply up the ante, they're going to have to (yet again) build up the car more. Clutch, drive-line, suspension, computer assistance, etc.
But if they work on making the car more efficient through weight reduction, less engine power loss through drive-line and spinning mass, aerodynamics and work out an even greater computer-assisted suspension system, they can make the Vette that much faster while hardly upgrading the power/torque output. Considering they're already going direct injection, it's likely that they'll be able to produce a ZR1 that's naturally aspirated (shedding a lot of weight and complexity) while still maintaining the same (or better) power to weight ratio.
But yeah, my previous comment was a joke.

Yes. According to Jalop, the sketch they drew was the halo model.
